The grandfather of a dead teenage robber criticized an Oklahoma man for using an AR-15 to defend himself against the group of burglars Friday.
Leroy Schumacher, the grandfather, said there was no reason his grandson had to die over the attempted robbery, reports KTUL.
What these three boys did was stupid, Schumacher told KTUL. They knew they could be punished for it but they did not deserve to die.
Jacob Redfearn, his grandson, and two other teens, Maxwell Cook and Jake Woodruff , were fatally shot by Zach Peters when they tried to break into Peters home on March 27. Armed with an AR-15, Peters shot all three of the would-be robbers.

Amendment XI?
If it's not safe to defend your home and family against criminal thugs, where is it appropriate?
Would it make ya feel any better, Little Girl...”
One of the all time best quotes from TV.
My vote for comment of the day!! I especially like the proper spelling and I remember Archie saying that.
Like the home owner was going to look to see if or not they were armed when they’d already broken into the home....they set themselves up long before they arrived at the home....this was a planned ‘second’ breakin to this house they committed.
‘Deserve’s got nothing to do with it.’
Remember...this was the second time they broke into this property....they did earlier and took alcohol out of the game room..then returned for more.....
They got exactly what was coming to them IMO..
We must all agree that he shouldn’t have shot them with an “automatic rifle”. (At least that’s how ABC’s David Muir described the firearm.
Send them a bill for the ammo used.
That really doesn't work in single-story homes.
Just sayin'
“Kids do not deserve to die. Kids deserve better parenting so that they will not have become hoodlums, but that didnt happen.” Damn Right that didn’t happen. Their parents were “human garbage” too.
That’s why there were feral animals and if a feral animal attacks you...you kill it before it can maim or kill you.
If than man would have waited to shoot we would probably be reading his obituary right now.
You state “If you break into a persons house death may be the outcome.”
If you break into my house or property DEATH WILL BE THE OUTCOME.
Are you sure?
No mention of three deaths, which would turn a so-so story into a great story.
Huh??
Ex. 22:2 -- If a thief is found breaking in, and is beaten to death, no bloodguilt is incurred;Exo. 20:13 -- "You shall not steal.
Rom. 6:23 -- For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
They did not “try” to break in. They broke in.
The dispatcher kept insisting that the man disarm even though there was no way to know if he might still be in danger.
There was a get away driver waiting outside when the home invasion occurred.
The occupant only thought he shot 2 of the burglars.
Ought to see his trophy room...
I feel bad for grandpa, I really do. Maybe if he had taught his grandson right from wrong we wouldn’t be in this position.
The home invaders are not victims and should not be seen as such. They made a very poor decision that cost them their lives. That’s no one’s fault but theirs.
If you embark on a life of crime it is likely bad things will happen to you. Sometimes it might be prison. Sometimes you may be victimized by other criminals. Sometimes, as in this case, you might meet your demise on the wrong end of a rifle held by a scared homeowner.
Thanks much...
Oh. Also, the criminals who got shot and killed were apparently white.
Complaining grandfather is also white.
Driver was apparently Hispanic.
Didn’t see any pics of the shooter.
If that information is pertinent to anyone.
