Vaccine fears are on display today in Washington, D.C. A group called Revolution for Truth is leading an anti-vaccine event that includes a rally outside the National Press Club and talks by at least 15 speakers. The day will culminate with a speech by Robert F. Kennedy Jr., an outspoken opponent to vaccines and founder of the World Mercury Project. The stated purpose of the event is to protest the biased media coverage, exploitation by the pharmaceutical industry and government protection that, the group says, perpetuate the use of what it says are dangerous inoculations.
Several dozen people gathered outside the National Press Club this morning, protecting protest signs with umbrellas. “Safety before profit,” said one sign. “Children I love suffer serious vaccine injuries,” said another. “Our children are not lab rats,” read yet another. Rally leaders with a megaphone led chants of “CNN, tell the truth! CDC, tell the truth! No vaccine mandates! No more lies!”
Many signs and chants called for a government subpoena of William Thompson, a psychologist with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Thompson was part of the CDC research team that investigated whether thimerosal-containing vaccines were linked to an increased incidence of autism. Following an interview by Andrew Wakefield, the British doctor known for his role in fueling the widely embraced belief that vaccines cause autism, Thompson became suspected of omitting data linking vaccines and autism in black children from the published CDC study.
Meanwhile, on a rain-soaked sidewalk outside the National Press Club, one sign summarized the conspiracy that many anti-vaccine protesters believe is behind the continued administration of vaccines to children: “Med-Pharma compensates government that mandates; doctor vaccinates; child deteriorates; Congress obfuscates. Subpoena Dr. Thompson! #CDCWhistleblower.”

Which field of science? Informed decisions can often adversely effect the health of other children. The goal of public health, is just that, to foster the health of all of the public. During the Ebola outbreak in West Africa, it was very difficult to convince the native population how to prevent the spread of the disease; they too thought their informed decision was the right one.
The side effects are clearly outlined. Why are you making that up?

Unvaccinated children get sick at much higher rates—check the stats in 3rd world countries. The unvaccinated sick children spread the disease to others. The goal of public health is to prevent and control epidemics. We in the U.S. are not part of the 3rd world and we should not mimic their behavior.
None of your sites are documented science sites. I see this type of resistance to modern medicine, but it is usually restricted to 3rd world countries. And following a shyster like JFK, a demrat of the worst order.
With all the “immigrants” coming in from 3rd world countries, do we really want our kids to be vulnerable to the 3rd world diseases they’ll bring...that we’ve wiped out via vaccines?
They need to put their energy into keeping the immigrants out! They aren’t real immigrants anyway!

What do you know about immunology? I have vaccinated thousands of cattle, dogs, cats, pigs, horses, sheep, and lab animals, I have also conducted vaccine trials. Tell me, what qualifications you have and I will listen. I’m waiting.

Blinding putting ones faith in government is not something that I would expect from a conservative either.
I guess this is one subject that cuts across party lines.
So disgusting. Food dyes all alone are toxic and that’s probably the least objectionable thing.

Yes they are, in fine print in the physician's handout.
And maybe some doctors brief their patients, but the norm is "you need to take this, it will help you avoid the flu."
(As a side note, I've actually had doctors tell me not to read the PDR, the Merck Manual, or the physician's handouts on drugs/vaccines...imagine that?)

First of all, I am NOT opposed to vaccination.
I am a skeptic of giving kids 284 vaccines by the time they are 3 weeks old (fake numbers given for a point).
I am a skeptic of thinking that vaccination is the be all and end all. Take Gardasil as an example. The solution to HPV is to live your sexual life according to Scripture, not taking shots with as many side effects as has been reported with Gardasil.
Again, let me stress: I am not anti-vaccination when it is called for. (For me PERSONALLY) I am against it as a general purpose prophylactic. But I'm also against taking any kind of medication unless it's absolutely necessary.
Many years ago during a physical my doctor wanted to put my on blood pressure medicine and statins. I didn't want to think about going on those meds, so I made a bargain with my doctor: give me 6 months and if I'm still showing the symptoms, I wouldn't argue. So I lost weight, started eating healthier, started a vigorous exercise program, and so on. BP dropped to normal, cholesterol levels got back to where they should be, etc. And, well, a decade later, still no need for statins or BP meds.
The point being that the solution was fixing something, not medicating around it.
My attitude toward vaccines is similar: yes, if you're in a situation where you need them, by all means the benefits outweigh the risks. You go to the jungle, you'd be an idiot not to take Yellow Fever and Cholera shots. And so on.
As far as other modern technologies:
Of course I use a cell phone. And I am well aware of the side effects of electromagnetic radiation (I worked on high powered [>10KW output] upper-UHF and SHF transmitters for years). I've actually seen people made sterile and note a higher increase of cancer among my peer group from people who weren't pretty careful around that environment. The running joke among my peers is that our sperm glows in the dark.

3rd world children get sicker than most 1st world children primarily because of lousy sanitation and poor or nonexistent quarantine practices...there is an aggressive vaccination program administered by WHO throughout the 3rd world so lack of vaccination as an excuse is actually decreasing.
The real solution to third world diseases happening in this country is more closely related to proper public health practices than anything else. One of the biggest causes of hepatitis is using untreated human manure as fertilizer and then not washing the veggies before eating them. (To say nothing of infected third world restaurant employees not washing their hands after taking a crap). The solution to that is to make sure that human waste is thoroughly pasteurized before using it as fertilizer, to make sure that people know to wash their veggies and HOW to wash their veggies, and quarantining people who have the disease until it's out of their system.
Ok. Indeed, proper sanitation is one of the many tools used to protect public health, just as vaccines are. We have pretty darned good sanitation practices here in the U.S. yet we now have West Nile, Zika, and Chinkengunya on our shores. Not all parents with autistic children blame vaccines either. Many of the millions of affected children around the world have never seen a vaccine. There are myriad other mental illnesses that have no connection to vaccines besides autism, it is just that when one has an affected child there must be something that must be blamed for their sad misfortune. There is a clear familial prevalence with autism.

Only in YOUR eyes. And save the “I’m waiting” stance , like you are some one who issuing a challenge, ready to fight and “show” me.
It matters not who I am, who you are, or what we say or have and have not done. I listen to content and make up my mind. It doesn’t take gov’t issued degrees for people to look at what is happening around them, and recognize what is going on.
I find CDC whistleblowers who speak of vaccine selective data inclusion along with the tossing of data unsupportive of their agenda credible. If you don’t, fine. Get vaccinated.
If people choose to put some or all vaccines into their and their children’s bodies, that is their choice. If others make a different choice, I celebrate their freedom.
It shouldn’t be a problem because, according to the pro-vac people, they and their vaccinated children will be protected from catching diseases from the unvaccinated because they believe the vaccines will do this. Great. To each their own.
But hell awaits those who ever decide to make home visits, needles in hand, and forcibly vaccinate those against their will.
