I am certainly a capitalist who wants to see people succeed. If they work hard, they deserve their rewards. But I have somewhat of a problem that great wealth is in the hands of just a few globalists such as Bill Gates, who is set in the future to become the first trillionaire. With that much money, the power that can be exerted over our lives may be more oppressive than a government. And don’t get me started on Zuckerberg. Look what Soros is doing with a paltry 25 billion. When money and influence are more important than the Constitution, we are in serious trouble.
Sounds like a "dog bites owner" story to me.
Did they go to Lowell Weicker’s house - the guy who brought the income tax to Connecticut?
Wasn’t it Connecticut that imposed a “yacht tax”, or was that the liberals in congress?
Liberals misdiagnose the problem. Consequently the cure is counterproductive or worse. “Income inequality” isn’t a bad thing per se. They refuse to admit that. It is true that crooks shouldn’t get rich, but they are seemingly unable to make fine distinctions. One size fits all.
They felt really good about “sticking it to the man” in the form of a luxury yacht tax. What happened in real life, was THOUSANDS of good middle class jobs were destroyed. Turns out - Surprise! It takes a whole bunch of people to build, maintain, repair and crew a yacht. The liberals DO NOT understand business or economics. They should have no input on these matters. Some of them may have good intentions, but that is no excuse.
Thinking the same thing. Says it all.
Well if they are Democrats they should pay more.
