Paid a visit to Kroger while visiting my daughter in Ohio (they bailed out of Pittsburgh 30 yrs. ago due to union problems).

Since I don’t live near any myself I did not have their little blue shopper discount card. Do NOT shop there without one! They charged me full rippin’ retail for EVERYTHING.

I know someone couldn’t afford Folgers so he settled on Kroger coffee. Says it’s better.

They would have given you one at customer service if you had asked. Just make up a phone number and email address to keep them off your back.

If you are nice to the cashier, sometimes they will pull out their card and scan it. You get the discount, they get the credit toward the discount gasoline.

Interesting trivia - you can use your Kroger card at their other chains. I used mine without any trouble at Ralphs in Southern California while on a business trip.

Don’t they have a “store card” if you ask at the register?

Many chains do, to avoid pissing off customers who are on vacation, but you have to ask.
