30 Million gallons dumped ... almost as bad as Milwaukee. It takes 7 years for the current volume of water in Puget Sound to flush out to the Pacific.

Puget Sound used to have fairly clear water until the building boom of the 1970s when occupation began to exceed carrying capacity. After that the treated water dumped particulate matter (sort of like very very tiny gooy pieces of wet toilet paper) into the Sound forcing the surface swimming fish like herring and salmon to dive beneath the mess which formed up in the water columns. By diving deeper, the fish fed less and steadily grew smaller and weaker.

The people who called attention to this environmental problem created by environmentalists were hounded and scorned: commercial salmon fishermen ...

The upgrading of municipal water treatment plants should become a major part in the infrastructure program.

It’s the idiot lib city and state workers again cutting corners and not doing repairs so that the moola can be used to pad their pensions just like they do in Oregon.
These people are worthless workers who would be fired in the private sector.

Earth Day 2014: Seattle, Green City of the Future

Imagine a city that is carbon neutral, has zero emissions, uses sustainable energy sources and builds a comprehensive public transportation. This is the “city of the future,” according to the Earth Day Network’s Green Cities Campaign – and a future not too far away, especially here in Seattle.

Seattle may be green but Puget Sound is brown.
