Texas Republican Ted Poe Quits Freedom Caucus Over Their #NeverTrump Intransigence…
Conservative Treehouse ^

Posted on 03/26/2017 2:50:01 PM PDT by hotsteppa

Texas Republican Congressman Ted Poe has announced he is giving up membership in Hillary’s Favorite Caucus over their unwillingness to support President Trump:

“I have resigned from the House Freedom Caucus,” Poe said in a statement. “In order to deliver on the conservative agenda we have promised the American people for eight years, we must come together to find solutions to move this country forward. Saying no is easy, leading is hard, but that is what we were elected to do.

Leaving this caucus will allow me to be a more effective Member of Congress and advocate for the people of Texas. It is time to lead.” “Some only want to be the party of ‘no’ & would’ve voted against the 10 commandments,”

Congressman Poe’s exit from #NeverTrump leaves 29 remaining members.

Yes, it would be filibustered by Senate Dems, but even so, we would end up in exactly the same situation we are now in with respect to Obamacare. And the Dems would be SOLE owners.

Sorry, you are day dreaming. The GOP controls the White House and Congress. They are bystanders to nothing at this point.

Please see my post 96. The FC has more power than they choose to exercise. Blaming that on me gets you nowhere.

Low Information Voters elected Trump !

Trump (a New York SOCIALIST) works with Ryan (a SOCIALIST and a RINO) and works with McConnell (a SOCIALIST and a RINO),
who both have NO SPINE and LOATHE Trump, and only want Trump DEFEATED;
... and we expect them to give us back our FREEDOM OF CHOICE for Health Care ????

So ... Just HOW STUPID ARE the “Low-Information Voters” ????

Wow....epic opus?

If so.....well, bye.

Yeah, instead of embracing FC and realizing his mistakes of Trump/Ryan/ObamaCare, you’re justifying the move towards the RATS?

I'm not justifying anything. I'm just pointing out that the RINOs are forcing Trump to go Left. Deals are now going to get cut with Democrats and approved by moderate Republicans.

Really, it just highlights the fact that the Republican Party, when they have the majority, can't get nothing done.

Tucker Carlson called out Ryan in an interview on how the house has only worked around 8 working days in a whole month. How is that f**king possible? We pay these guys for that? Ryan’s gotta go!

I read that according to Gohmert, [I didn’t save the link] every time a concession was made to the FC, more moderate Republicans vowed to oppose the bill. Had sufficient changes been made to get the FC on board, the defection of RINOs would still have doomed Ryancare. Fwiw.

If FC, Ryan or anyone else doesn’t do what needs to be done to advance Trump’s agenda, do you really think Trump supporters are going to vote these people back into office? We gave them the senate, we gave them the house and we gave them the White House, and still nothing. The massive number of Trump supporters, SUPPORT TRUMP, and have no allegiance to any of the worthless hacks. Massive number of voters will just stay home.

Trump is our last chance to right this ship. STOP being part of the problem. Your perfect, real, true conservative world DOES NOT EXIST.

Freedom Caucus is also the orimary reason why Paul Ryan is still Speaker. Theyre a bunch of frauds. Comfort yourself with their supposed cinservative purity. Its a charade.

Please explain your damnable condemnation of the Freedom Caucus. And be specific.

For a “Socialist”, Trump is the most anti-government, anti-wealth distribution president since Ronald Reagan.

Spread your lies somewhere else where your blind NeverTrump hatred is welcome. You obviously did not vote for Ztrump, meaning you wre just fine with Hilary picking the next 2 commie Supreme Vourt justices. Talk aboyt Socialists.

You deserve be zotted.

I really admire Poe

I am so disappointed in my congressman, Bill Posey

Just a few days ago, he was happy to stand next to President Trump and smile away as President Trump signed a new ‘ space exploration’ bill that will bring jobs and big bucks to Posey’s congressional district.....my county on the Space Coast

Two days later Posey stabs him in the back!

I made two calls to his office letting him know exactly how I felt.....I voted for this guy umpteen times!

> Once they came out with their bill, it has looked like their intent was to kick the rock down the road until after the 2018 elections. And then maybe kick it down the road again.

That was the problem with Ryan’s strategy. That, coupled with poor leadership and lying about the bill, doomed it. That may have been his intention, put on a show, do nothing, and attempt to embarrass Trump.

Well, I don't! He's my congressman and I can't wait to give him an earful! What a wishy-washy RINO. He's already gone on record backing off immigration reform and now this! He was only in the FC for looks. The man has no conservative compass and his leaving the FC proves it and he disgusts me.

actually, applied common sense

there is not adequate raw political power to make all items on the conservative agenda come to pass.

With elected politicians you can assess their true political ideology by how they actually VOTE on issues of prime interest to conservatives.
There are a number of organizations (American Conservative Union, Conservative Review, Heritage Action Scorecard, FreedomWorks, National Journal) that track the voting record of each member of Congress.
Here’s the Heritage Action Scorecard conservative rankings for a few members of the Freedom Caucus:
Dave Brat: 94%
Gary Palmer: 95%
Paul Gosar: 93%
Ken Buck: 100%
Jim Jordan: 100%

Agree, not enough political power and if ‘conservatives’ don’t face that reality, they won’t have any political power at all. Trump supporters are EXTREMELY upset about what is happening.

“Hillary’s Favorite Caucus over their unwillingness to support President Trump”

This “conservative” has been in the treehouse too long.
