Meanwhile, Top al Qaeda leader, Qari Yasin, killed in Afghan air strike, Pentagon says

But a certain judge would likely put a stop to this (if he could) under the premise that he was targeted because of his religion, and which targeted killing makes the US like a theocracy.

If you want to get into the US and obtain government benefits with the goal of blowing innocent people up and turning the US into a formal theocracy then you just have to belong to a religion that believes in this, since the 1st amendment forbids discrimination on the basis of religion, and the free exercise of it.

But if you want to teach the scientific evidence for intelligent design in s public school then that cannot be allowed, since the 1st amendment any forbids governmental support of religion.

Which manner of perversity has become too common in the judiciary.

An anecdote, prior to the British Invasion, US artists who were
popular in the UK toured over there one was the late Bobby Vee.

The Beatles never opened for Vee as they did for Tommy Roe and other early ‘60s American rock stars, but he recalled an impressive list of British Invasion hitmakers who did.
“The Zombies, the Searchers, Dusty Springfield, Gerry and the Pacemakers … I think I was in Manchester and somebody from a local newspaper set up an interview with Mersey Beat. I thought it was a religious group – Mercy Beat – I didn’t know!” Vee remembered. “But I quickly found out when I was talking to (the reporter) because he was talking about the Undertakers, and all kinds of these Liverpool and Manchester bands, and one of them called the Merseybeats!

The Battle of Tours was fought in an area located between Tours and Poitiers. That’s further north than France’s midpoint, but not quite as far north as Paris.
