Judge Theodore Chuang of the U.S. District Court in Maryland, who issued a temporary restraining order on March 15 halting part of President Trump’s Executive Order 13780, has scheduled a hearing on March 28 to consider the merits of a request made by the plaintiffs in their complaint to revoke the section of that exec order that limited the maximum number of refugees authorized to enter the United States in FY 2017 to 50,000. Several legal scholars and political commentators have questioned Chuang’s impartiality, in part because he served as deputy general counsel of the Department of Homeland Security in the Obama administration, as Breitbart reported.
In the very first sentence of his March 15 decision, Chuang makes an error of fact which may indicate how he will rule on March 28.
“On March 6, 2017, President Donald J. Trump issued an Executive Order which bars, with certain exceptions, the entry to the United States of nationals of six predominantly Muslim countries, suspends the entry of refugees for 120 days, and cuts by more than half the number of refugees to be admitted to the United States in the current year,” Judge Chuang writes. With this statement, Judge Chuang makes it clear that he accepts the argument made by plaintiffs HIAS (formerly Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society) and the International Refugee Assistance Project (IRAP) about refugee resettlement numbers in FY 2017. The plaintiffs argue that former President Obama’s September 22, 2016 “presidential determination” that he wanted Congress to fund the resettlement of up to 110,000 refugees in the United States in FY 2017 means that Congress must fund the resettlement of 110,000 refugees this fiscal year, and that President Trump has absolutely no say in the matter.

I think that Trump should pass an EO that any “refugees” that are let in by this judge that harm any US citizen then the same gets done to the judge and his family. I volunteer to administer the punishment especially if it is 3X or 10X the perp terrorist actions.
Judges do not have the authority to change legislation or executive orders. Nor do judges have the authority to fund things.

Executive Orders do not have to be funded by congress either. They can be left to starve if congress does not pass legislation to fund them. Omnibus budgeting has been allowing agencies to fund Obama’s executive orders with discretionary spending.

President Trump should’ve focused on his tax cuts, politically more popular than the octopus of Obamacare, and then pivoted towards Muslim immigration later on, as well as getting the ban the first time. He is now seriously stymied.
So the Democrats intend to rule through the judiciary now? They think they can make and repeal laws and EOs? It won’t stop with “refugees” or EOs if they perceive themselves successful in this. I think these judges may well come up against their their very own Wall down the road a bit. Trump is letting them win just a tad too easily to be credible.

If I am the President, I am the most powerful man in the country. i have a press conference where I state that this crap is going to end in one hour, after I speak at the conference, .. and there will be no more questions or no more answers to the press after that one hour is up. I would tell them to get their lives in order and to not cause any more problems out in the land of the free and the brave. For if they do, they will be held accountable and punishment would be forthcoming.
I have work to do and the days of lies and threats are done...over with. You all are guilty of criminal acts, of which there will be retribution for, in time ahead. So let’s get this straight. A president no longer in office has authority over a currently seated Congress and president because the judge was appointed by the former president who is no longer in office. We are approaching banana republic status here.
If the Hawaii judge rules for 110,000 refugees what’s to stop another judge ruling for 1,000,000 refugees?
These people are treating President Trump as if he’s a lame-duck president already.
When did we elect Derrick Watson President?
