President Trump predicted Friday that pressure on Democrats will compel them to work with Republicans to pass a healthcare reform package after Obamacare collapses.
"When it explodes, they come to us and we make one beautiful deal," Trump told the Washington Post's Robert Costa in a phone interview shortly after House leadership pulled the American Health Care Act in the face of conservative opposition.
Trump said he believed Republicans came within "five to 12 votes" of passing the AHCA. They needed 216 votes to send the legislation to the Senate.

Yeah, the ‘secret’ was that Trump didn’t care. He’s said many times that Obamacare would explode on it’s own.
He was fine with the bill passing or failing so no one could ‘back him into a corner’.

Ryan’s plan was to change Obamacare just enough to call it Trumpcare and hang it around the President’s neck to make him a one term President.

Republicans ran on Obamacare repeal for 8 years. They gave it a shot for three weeks and said, “Too hard.”
How does that hurt Democrats?
If anything, this is going to push the public towards acceptance of Obamacare and reform within the parameters of it. And the only reform within the parameters is a public option.
Government entitlements only grow over time.

One more thought, by 2019, we are going to be 10 years into the idea that there is no such thing as a pre-existing condition or a lifetime cap on insurance.
Anyone under 32 years of age is going to have lived in an adult world where that is the case.
That is always going to be the law going forward. And that means you can never have a “full repeal.”
Obamacare was a diabolical piece if legislation in that it gave people just enough stuff that they liked.
After it fails and people suffer. He can point to this bill and say “I tried to prevent this but Congress wouldn’t let it happen.”
And after Obamacare fails, and people suffer, Congress will pass “a beautiful health care system. Your premiums and deductibles will be cheaper and you’ll have better insurance. It will be so beautiful”
I’m gonna opt for the public option the democrats get him to agree to.

That's my conclusion at this point. That's why the President was willing to let if fail at the end of the process.
Therefore, everyone saying how bad this outcome is for the President is ignoring what Ryan and the Uni-party really intended.
Whatever eventually gets proposed shouldn't have any connection to Paul Ryan. It should be a bill authored by patriotic legislators and for the People...
