Obamacare will fail when a bunch of smart people in the insurance business get together and start offering plans in a few states that cost about $300/month but meet hardly any Obamacare regulations. The people who are now paying $1,500/month for a plan with a $7,500 annual deductible will flock to those new plans, and the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services will announce that they are compliant with all Federal regulations. Every insurance company will stay out of legal trouble by also offering plans that meet every Obamacare requirement ... and nobody will ever buy them.

1) Withdrawal is better than the alternative ie putting vulnerable Reps to the blade 2018

2) No reason to send up a bill that the Senate would mutate

3) #2 is probably #1 - we need more GOP Senators not less ... do you all realize we are sitting on 2 if not 3 Leftard S COtUS replacements after Gosuch?

It would fail 425-18.

And then you would have them on record for the liars they have been.

Paul Ryan and Gary Cohn lose, Steve Bannon & populism win and saves Trump from serious mistake.

Backstory; Cohn slips multiple notches while Bannon solidifies power.

I support The Obamacare Expansion Bill.

Eliminate all waivers and exemptions for Congress and federal workers - effective immediately. Hold a 60 Day Open Enrollment. Let them shop the Obamacare “marketplace”. Mandatory enrollment, no exceptions. They will all - democrats and republicans - be on Obamacare by June 1st, and all demanding a repeal vote by Thanksgiving.

I know you don’t mean it the way I’m taking it, but I’m as happy as can be the 80-95% of Obamacare will not be retained by law.

You are still under the mistaken ideal that 197 Republicans were so Conservative they backed the plan in the House.

NO! NO they weren’t! They were so Leftist they backed Ryancare.

Have you been under the impression all along that Conservatives were the majority of Republicans in the House.

They have been the vast minority!

These 40 people saw it exactly right. Even some of Ryan’s supporters saw it as a horse dropping.

Winning isn’t always best.

One of Trump’s own saying is, “Sometimes loosing helps you find a new way to win.”

We’re going to win this.

Schumer and Ryan can go rent a motel room for all I care.

Ryan just imploded.

Nope, Obama would have won had Obamacare lite / Trumpcare been passed.

Now that the bastardisation bill has been defeated, the GOP can now stand up, led by the Liberty Caucus and actually REPEAL Obamacare - every single word ... by sending to President Trump the same repeal that was sent to Obama.

But EVERY PLAN has to have the provisions like 26 years old at home and ANY health care package will have the disastrous taxes and fees that go with the ACA

Those were never just for federal website healthcare options

Brat, Meadows, Jordan - they made O-care permanent today, they made PP permanent today. Unforgivable to let the perfect be the enemy of the good. We’ll never be as strong again, ever,

God you are annoying. Trump didn’t fail. How the hell did he fail on immigration? Because some liberal justices screwed with his EO? He’s building the wall, illegal immigration is down and ICE is deporting people left and right. Of course you probably have the bright idea to say Trump should ignore the judge when he knows that there are about 50 members of his own party that would love to impeach him for it.

And he didn’t lose on healthcare. He just showed the American people what a bunch of worthless twits the Republicans in Congress are. Trump is the only one in the entire government with a set of balls on him. People like you make me sick. You’re all on Trump’s side one day and because he doesn’t do what you think he should he’s a failure.

Why in the world did you support this bill? I opposed it because a lot of people would have lost their exemptions in religious health ministries. Just think of how pathetic that is ... good, God-fearing Christians who are actually better off under Obamacare than under Ryan’s bill.

Then the GOP representatives who passed it under Obama’s watch and didn’t support it under President Trump can go back to their voters and explain why they did not support the repeal of Obamacare.

To: DoughtyOne ... “Your dream of Obamacare collapse on its own is a fantasy. It will now be fully funded with the votes of RAT’s...Congrats.”

I agree....and to DoughtyOne...enjoy your “victory” and while you do, try to remember the people that will be stuck on ObamaCare...obviously you are not one of them!!

My Life Under The Affordable Care Act or My OBAMACARE DISASTER [Vanity]

“That amounts to $12,024.00! Yes, you read that right, OVER TWELVE THOUSAND DOLLARS! “Needless to say, I was, and still am in shock! My wife is hysterical. She’s afraid we’ll lose the house and be out in prison! We would have been BETTER OFF NOT HAVING ANY INSURANCE AT ALL for 2015!”

“So, if anyone asks me what I think about OBAMACARE, I will unequivocally tell them in no uncertain terms that it is the worst disaster ever created for a working man in the middle class.

Just how bad off was the healthcare industry?

As I recall, numerous hospitals shut their doors because they couldn’t handle the losses from all the illegals. Has that situation improved since Obamacare was passed? Don’t know without further research.

As for the health insurers, they’re in it for a profit, not as a public service. If they can’t make a profit who’s to blame them for getting out of the vice that Obamacare has placed them? I do remember that several insurers came out in favor of Obamacare becasue everyone was going to have to be covered and that meant more income and profit for each of them. It didn’t turn out that way and a recent billing ststaement of a family member shows that hospitals are still charging (gouging) for generic medications and blood draws, etc, etc.

There’s plenty of blame to go around, but some must accrue to Trump. His administration wasn’t ready at day one, nor were they ready to fight back at the level of assault they were/are under.

The Democrats have beaten them like a rented mule. They aren’t ready for the kind of to-the-literal-death fight the Democrats are waging. The Democrats are winning - hugely. The Republicans aren’t ready. And neither is Trump. There will be no tax cut bill passed. You won’t even see one floated for two months...by then Trump will be a eunuch with no power whatsoever.

I'm fine with this. The GOP (excluding Trump) had 6-7 years to put something worthwhile together that could have been done and dusted by now. Instead, they look like they were totally unprepared to do anything and instead put out a half-a$$ed bill that deserved to be pulled. They can still work a bit more deliberately to get things right, but there might be a few reps that need to be threatened with a primary opponent if they don't do the right thing.
