Perhaps Sen. Rand Paul's bill can be considered. See S.222 - Obamacare Replacement Act.

Medicaid is for the poor, what are you thinking? And you don’t buy into it.

I know exactly what Medicaid is and how you currently qualify for it.

What am suggesting is that rather than forcing everyone into a socialized medicine equivalent of Medicaid (which is exactly where we are heading), you should be allowed to buy into Medicaid if you cannot qualify for anything better. Set the buy in premiums at a high Obamacare rate and require that you meet a high Obamacare level deductible before anything is covered. The point is not to make it more desirable that private health insurance, just a way that anyone who cannot get private health insurance can still get coverage.

It will be spun that way of course. it’s really a temporary victory for the Democrat party though. Obamacare is a disaster and it’s probably going to implode and Dems will have to own its ultimate failure. That’s what this vote was all about IMO-making sure that the Dems are left holding the bag when it all comes apart.

My feeling is as follows (and keep in mind I’m not the most educated person on this but I go with my gut)

I think Trump all along had Ryan’s back until he realized Ryan did not even consider the people in this bill. Once he that clearly, I think PITUS went into “give him enough rope and let him hang himself” mode.

We saw him stand up and say “...get this thing done or move on”. That is a negotiator! Even though he said earlier today that Ryan will stay,I think it’s patently obvious Ryan cannot stay and should not stay.He will be gone in short order... I can see it coming and Trump will take over the healthcare etc. and make his promises to the people real.

He is moving on to tax cuts. I don’t think any of this is a defeat for Trump at all, however I think it sheds a bright light on Ryan and the rest of the elites. These people couldn’t govern their way out of a wet paper bag.

Chuckie Schumer has said that he is willing to work with the GOP
to fix Obamacare. And I’m hearing the GOP is willing to do so too.

I said earlier before the vote was canceled in many posts that RINO’s
and RAT’s would join forces to fund Obamacare.

That looks like the direction it will now go.

Your dream of Obamacare collapse on its own is a fantasy.

It will now be fully funded with the votes of RAT’s.

Congrats.

Let Obamacare fall on its own.

The one thing that bugged me the most about the ACA was that it was pushed through in a really sleazy way without the dems even offering the pubs any input even if it was rejected. A close second to that was the mandated part. By making it mandatory for every citizen to be involved in one way or another changed a basic fact of life; we could be told by the government to buy something even if we didn't want to. I should have made this the worst thing about it.

By losing the mandated part of the ACA it will fold like a cheap suit in no time as it should or become unavailable in some states or counties or become so expensive the public will be calling for their reps on both sides of the isle to do something. That will be the time to put together a bill that is purely market driven with no government interference other than maybe the usual oversight and maybe some help in getting drug costs under control through some kind of negotiation. Then the fed gov will be playing its role correctly in being a partner to the people rather than a mom or big brother.

For the people and by the people just as it's supposed to be.

No this was our obama care fix. There will be no fix of the socialized insurance law. Trump will veto that if he wants to get reelected. We need free markets with a strict safety net. Close the VA. Put them on medicare .Take the VA infrastructure and use that for the safety net.If you don’t want to go there—get a job or start a successful business and buy your own insurance!! It is a simple solution. There is no constitutional right to health insurance!! Go to the ER!!
God Bless the FREEDOM CAUCAS!!Ryan needs to resign!!

“Well, if some representative would just resubmit the prior repeal bill, we can find out”

It would fail 425-18.

How things changed. They voted SIXTY TIMES TO REPEAL...MOST RECENT JANUARY 13, 2017. UNBELIEVABLE!

From Reuters, January 14, 2017:

http://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-obamacare-idUSKBN14X1SK

U.S. House Republicans on Friday January 13, 2017 won passage of a measure starting the process of dismantling Obamacare, despite concerns about not having a ready replacement and the potential financial cost of repealing Democratic President Barack Obama’s landmark health insurance law.

The House of Representatives voted 227-198 to instruct committees to draft legislation by a target date of Jan. 27 that would repeal the 2010 Affordable Health Care Act, popularly known as Obamacare. The Senate approved the same measure early Thursday.

No Democrats supported the initiative. Nine Republicans voted against the measure.

With this vote, Republicans began delivering on their promise to end Obamacare, which also was a campaign promise of Republican President-elect Donald Trump.

The program, which expanded health coverage to some 20 million people, has been plagued by increases in insurance premiums and deductibles and by some large insurers leaving the system.

The resolution passed by the House and Senate does not need presidential approval, since it is part of an internal congressional budget process. But once the Obamacare repeal legislation is drafted, both chambers will need to approve it, and a presidential signature will be required.

By that time, Trump will have been sworn in as president. He has urged Congress to act quickly to repeal and replace the Democratic program.

Obamacare was enacted nearly seven years ago - over Republican objections - in an effort to expand coverage and give new protections for people with pre-existing health conditions and other barriers that left them without insurance.

I really despise Ryan but if anyone thinks we will get a better bill down the road, they are going to be disappointed. Obama is with us forever.
