He's setting Ryan up for failure.
Trump and Bannon know who's on their side.
Trump knows darn well that Ryan is the enemy.

The president will take a hit too, but Ryan is the one who gets damaged on this. I think that was the goal all along despite the president’s public posturing for this bill.

Fantasy; it is the professional conservatives who are betraying President Trump and the rest of the nation to appeal to their donors and district interests. They don't really care what happens to the Republic as long as they remain in Congress.
President Trump put his agenda on the line to "repeal and replace Obamacare."

I would agree that Ryan is the one hurt most by this. But it really reflects on a fake GOP legend that they had this grand plan back in 2012 to replace Obama-Care. No, they never had such a plan....it was just trash talk.
Trump is correct...if it won’t pass, then move on. Let Ryan stand there in a weakened position. The Democrats would be wise not to talk about this in any way....because the woeful Obama-Care package is still standing and costs go up every single year...so there is nothing to brag about.

That's a possibility and is second-level thinking. However, based on Occam's Razor, I think Trump really does support this stinker of a bill--and that is just plain sad.

He's setting Ryan up for failure. Gad! I hope so. Ryan has a burning ambition to run in 2020. He's going to do everything in his power to hobble Trump in anticipation of that. I hope Trump, Bannon, et al, are working with that in mind and hang the failure to repeal on Ryan. I'd love to see him try to primary Trump with Trump labeling him as a Failed Speaker.
