Trump Ultimatum: Vote on Health Care Friday or Obamacare Stays
NBC News ^ | Mar 23 2017 | Leigh Ann Caldwell

Posted on 03/23/2017 5:28:48 PM PDT by mdittmar

Office of Management and Budget director Mick Mulvaney made clear Thursday evening that President Donald Trump is done negotiating on the hotly-debated health care bill and wants a vote on Friday.

And, if the president doesn't get a vote to repeal and replace Obamacare, he will move on to other priorities, Mulvaney said according to a source in the room during the tense talks with GOP members.

The latest salvo comes after House Republican leaders abruptly postponed a planned vote on the GOP health care bill Thursday as they struggled to find sufficient support to pass it. GOP lawmakers had previously been told procedural votes on the bill will still be held tonight and that a full vote on the measure could take place Friday.

This mess that Ryan created hangs around his neck, not President Trump’s. President Trump gave him what he wanted, went out and talked to the people, so did the V. President...they both knew it was garbage.

Now Ryan can’t pass ObamaCareLite and he will be removed from Speaker, he’s a mess, and always has been...

Good bye RINO RYAN don’t let the door hit you on the way out!!!

You know little about Obamacare.
Dozens of new federal offices were created by Obamacare and not one is eliminated.
The mandate is not repealed, the IRS penalty is reduced to $.00 but remains on the books. The penalty is collected by the insurance companies in a 30% premium surcharge instead.
All medical records are still controlled by Fedzilla.
Ryancare leaves Obamacare largely intact.

“Its a trash bill.”

I agree, but if it’s trash in its final form, after negotiations and reconciliation, I trust Trump will veto it.

If it dies in the House, the conservative agenda will fade and we can say hello Nancy and Chuck in 2019.

Yes he has, and I disagree with that.

I don’t see how this becomes what he promised.

To me it’s a GOPe roadblock, and nothing more.

It will play out and we’ll see what the end ramifications are going forward.

I’m not very optimistic, as you can tell.

Me trying to read the tea leaves from here is suspect. I may be wrong. We’ll see.

But why is he arm twisting to get this passed if it’s so bad?

Please name one of these offices created by Obamacare and how much it costs.

The penalty is collected by the insurance companies in a 30% premium surcharge instead.

This is only if you lapse coverage and then go on the individual markets. If you have a lapse of coverage, then go on employer plan, there is no penalty. If you go from an employer plan to an individual plan there is no penalty.

Against Trump on this..hope the Freedom Caucus hold the line.

President Trump is doing exactly what he said he'd do. Congress is FAILING in their job do do as they promised more than 40 times over the last 8 years: CLEANLY REPEAL OBAMACARE.

Why won't the House simply send the SAME BILL that they passed more than 40 times under Obama, to President Trump? Because Paul Ryan that LYING SUCKBAG is trying to set Trump up for failure. Stick Trump with "Obamacare Lite" and ruin his Presidency.

If Trump falls for it, I'll be PISSED. Trump should walk away, let Obamacare crash and burn under its own weight, let that albatross hang around the Democrats necks and move on to Tax Reform.

If I were President Trump's advisor, that's EXACTLY what I'd tell him to do. I wouldn't be surprised if the House cannot pass a damn' thing and President Trump moves right onto Tax Reform.

Any GOP-E RINO LYING SUCKBAG like Paul Ryan needs to be PRIMARIED in 2018.

Remember what happens here folks. Those that want RYANCARE are LYING SUCKBAGS who need to be PRIMARIED!!!

Trump is fine, Ryan is screwed, and they are hustling to do another REPEAL and replace.

That's what I'm betting on ... exposing the lying suckbag RINO's to be primaried in 2018.

Or else? Sure.... Like if they get it right in a couple of weeks and send him a bill passed by house and senate he’s going to veto it?

The Independent Payment Advisory Board is $15 million a year in expenses (yes, million - not billion). Feel free to get rid of it- won't change anything.

The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force is a subset of HHS. This group has been in place since at least 1984 ("From 1984 to 1989, the task force's stated purpose was to "develop recommendations for primary care clinicians on the appropriate content of periodic health examinations."), so try again.

Perhaps he’s been sold a bill of goods by Ryan. Ryan may have told him there’s only so much you can do, or this is the way to go not really planning on ever achieving what we want.

There is one aspect of the new plan that frustrates me, and I believe it reveals some problems in perceptions.

They have evidently eliminated the IRS fine for not having a policy. It seems that they have instead moved to a premium penalty of 30%, if you haven’t been carrying insurance for a while.

This seems to me to be moving deck chairs on the Titanic, so to say. It doesn’t reflect a true move away from Obamacare in the sense of government not forcing us to do things.

That seems like a tip-off to me, that we’re not headed in the right direction.

There are other problems as well.

Look, we can only make assumptions based off what we can learn about it. Will it change? Will we be happier than we think with the end product? Maybe. Maybe not.

We’ll see how it goes.

this separated the pretend fighters in the house (freedom caucus) from the real fighters.

Pretend fighting is not fighting. They might as well be ivory tower professors arguing over inherit bias in the color of tofu.

You say that this hurts the nation to walk away from it.....well you can lead a horse as is said....but you can’t make it drink....especially if the water is still muddy.

The American people have Obama care because of the officials they elected....if anyone suffers for it this is on the demorats throat for happening.....or have you forgotten people are already sinking under Obamacare?

Obamacare should have never been agreed ...but as is said elections have consequences and Obamas deal on healthcare, which was actually Pelosi’s, was pushed on through. So more Americans have suffered since then...and will moreso this year....The Program stinks to high heaven....nobody can afford it. And the Dr’s and Insurance companies are leaving it.....

However if people want Health Insurance they can still purchase it outside Oabmacare ....they simply don’t want to sacrifice what they need to in order to do that.

Remember how many times "shutting down the government" has come back to haunt democrats? Same with this. This will inflict pain on many more people than having the White House closed to to tours.

Not saying O'Care is good. Just that if it dies without something to go to it will be a problem.

.....”Not saying O’Care is good. Just that if it dies without something to go to it will be a problem”......

It will be no different then before Obama care when it dies. People purchase health insurance at will...or not...

Did people who thought Obamacare was a solution really think they would just ride this out without ‘harm’ to people in the short and long run. They have no excuse as the warnings were rang loud and clear NOT to pass Obamacare and what to expect if it did.... and why was clearly laid out there for all to see.

You cannot protect people from “self-harm” if they don’t want to listen to the truth.

Furthermore...there are already in place several options for people with current healthcare issues....
