I’ve not studied the two, but I can imagine.
They have really let the public down with that path of misdirection.
When you mentioned the lack of morality or responsibility, I knew just what you meant.
Crash course:
Rogers Humanism—warm fuzzies. Unconditional positive regard. Feelings centered.
BF Skinner’s Behaviorism—stimulus-response-reinforcement. Man as organism, responding to multiple stimuli.
You can see how the two schools of thought are diametrically opposed to each other. Of course, there are numerous others, Freud, Jung, etc. Rogers vs Skinner were just the flavors de jour when I was in training.
Eventually, I chucked it all and went to law school. Hated the law biz even more.
