GOP House leaders delayed their planned vote Thursday on a long-promised bill to repeal and replace "Obamacare," in a stinging setback for House Speaker Paul Ryan and President Donald Trump in their first major legislative test.

The decision came after Trump, who ran as a master dealmaker, failed to reach agreement with a bloc of rebellious conservatives. Moderate-leaning Republican lawmakers were also bailing on the legislation, leaving it short of votes. [...]

I’m not saying that at all. What I am saying is no one in the country cares about Dave Brat Or Jim Jordan, that’s what I’m saying. We aren’t strong enough to go back to President Taft or President Coolidge and do it that way. We haven;t convinced enough people that our right way is the right way. We have a chance to govern. They’d frig up a w$t dream that’s how bad they are. This was so stupid. Jim friggin Jordan voted to save Obamacare.

Whatever the outcome, it is already being referred to as “TrumpCare” by the Dems and soon we’ll rarely hear “ObamaCare”.

“No setback to president Trump. We all know it’s the GOP elite swine”.

Well, no matter how it turns out, it will be referred to as “TrumpCare” from now on.

Yes, it was Ryan’s. He did not allow others to touch the bill much less have any changes/amendments, etc.

Trump supported this plan and was 100% behind it. Stop dumping all of this on Ryan— (he’s a dbag for other reasons). The Freedom Cuck-os just sh!t on the Trump agenda and told the country that Obamacare is a right now the preferable alternative.

Yeah - that is what I'm having trouble understanding. So they need more days to hammer something out it took longer than planned. How many of us have been on projects that took longer than planned? Sure the press can go after Trump as he didn't get it on the first crack on self-imposed date. They would have anyhow.

Perhaps now Trump can say hey why do we try a simple plan like I proposed during the campaign rather than Ryan's - lets do This.

Lets do these seven simple things first then we can come back and address the concerns of the moderates. We as a nation are done being beholden to bad programs that once enacted are sacrosanct. Obamacare is a turd and needs to be flushed, he should be that vulgar as to snap their necks and get the attention of the apolitical. Then president Trump needs to lead a nationwide campaign to put the pressure on the Senate which was going to have to happen anyhow.

president Trump should own the legislation Trumpcare but it should be based on what he published during the campaign.

Since you asked, a couple of points:
1. While the day is not over, yet, it seems that there won’t be a vote on the Ryan Obamacare 2.0 bill.
2. In the process of getting here, President Donald J. Trump, (still not tired of writing that) has learned a lot about the players.
3. He has the media spooked because nothing they have been pushing has stuck, and he has turned their own stories back on them to their detriment.
4. He now knows that if he wants to, he can listen to everything anyone in the country is saying behind his back.
5. We don’t know what Rudy Giuliani, Mike Flynn, and Betsy De Vos’ brother have been doing lately, and neither do the Democrats.

What ever happens now, we know one thing: It isn’t going to be boring and it will end up with President Donald J. Trump keeping the promises he made to us.

This does not hurt Ryan. He’s safe in his district and safe as speaker. Even the Freedom Caucus voted for him.

This is a setback for Trump. And Trump deserves the blame. He promised to get rid of it and he’s not pushing to get rid of it. Total betrayal.

Ryan is so enthusiastic about handing the health insurance system back to Big Pharm and the Insurance Companies, that it must be a fact that these lobbies have promised Ryan millions of dollars.

I have never seen a Speaker of the House like Ryan running so fast that he is a blur, right into an old defunct failed system, into the old system of accelerating health care costs which the insurance companies greedily brought about.

Ryan is ignoring the people of America. The Freedom Caucus is not.

Hold Trump to his promises NOW, immediately. There is no need to customize the bill solely for reconciliation process. Ted Cruz has found a way to make it work without reconciliation in the Senate, simple majority wins.

Ted Cruz’s way is not to use the reconciliation process.

The Senate can go to full repeal without 60.

Ted Cruz may have discovered a way to totally change Obamacare without 60 Senate votes
American Thinker ^ | Mar. 12, 2017 | Thomas Lifson

Democrats tend to love sneaky lawyer tricks because their side is so good at them. The passage of Obamacare under the Senate rules governing “reconciliation” is the most prominent example of creatively applying the rules to get what they want.

But it turns out that there are some really smart and creative legal minds on the GOP side, and now that the GOP runs the Senate, the sauce for the Democrat goose also flavors the Republican gander, if that isn’t too disagreeable an abuse of metaphorical license. Ted Cruz is one such legal mind; in the words of legendary Harvard Law School Professor Alan Dershowitz, “…one of the best students I ever had.”

***************************************************

Lets get on with it for the People. Ryan needs to stop his effing foolishness. NOW! maybe Ryan wants to ruin Trump and the new Republican non-elitist party, her sure acts like it.

Have to correct my earlier reply.
More Freedom Caucus members are still opposing it than I thought. Up to 20 of them.
So RINOs and conservatives are about even. (Though, honestly, IMO less than 10 HFC members are certain no votes without more changes.)

Mr. Smith. This is an unfortunate mess. Why could not a better bill have been written before now. Is it because no one could agree. The dems always seem to have it together and everyone votes the party line with little to no dissent, regardless of how awful their bill is and they never apologize.
