The Fair Point from Devin Nunes That Trump Critics Don’t Want to Acknowledge
National Review ^ | March 23, 2017 9:29 AM | Jim Geraghty

From the Thursday edition of the Morning Jolt:

The Point Devin Nunes Is Making That Trump Critics Refuse To Acknowledge

It’s perfectly fair to ask whether the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee should be traveling to the White House to brief the president when the FBI Director just announced that there is an ongoing investigation into whether there was any collusion between the president’s campaign and a foreign government in the past year.

But everybody’s whacking Rep. Devin Nunes around like a piñata right now, and it’s easy to forget he’s raising a perfectly valid concern.

“we’re going down a dangerous road when information collected by U.S. intelligence agencies about American citizens starts getting strategically leaked for partisan purposes.”

Even when it proves Trump was right? Mighty big of the National Review to admit that the sky is blue.

But don’t you see? Multiple felonies committed against Trump and his associates is not important.Proving he was not 100% literally accurate with a tweet is the most important issue facing the world today.

Unless some Obama people get arrested, go to trial and then to jail . . . the Democrat Party and their partners in crime, The Media . . . will never ever acknowledge any wrongdoing.

Trump has to go after these people big time.

“I’ll tell you, NSA is being cooperative,” Nunes continued, “but so far the FBI has not told us whether or not they’re going to respond to our March 15th letter, which is now a couple of weeks old.”

The FBI is not cooperating with the House of Representatives’ investigation into the NSA’s surveillance of the Trump campaign during the 2016 election, the chairman of the U.S. House Permanent Select Committee, Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.), said today.

During an explosive press conference outside the White House, Nunes told reporters that communications from the Trump team were picked up and disseminated within the government during the 2016 campaign. Nunes said sources within the intelligence community presented him with the information. He spoke to the press after briefing the administration.

“We don’t actually know yet officially what happened to General Flynn,” Nunes said of how communications from Gen. Flynn’s calls were leaked to the press. “We just know that his name leaked out but we don’t know how it was picked up yet. That was one of the things that we asked for in the March 15th letter, was for the NSA, CIA, and FBI to get us all the unmasking that was done.”

“And I’ll tell you, NSA is being cooperative,” Nunes continued, “but so far the FBI has not told us whether or not they’re going to respond to our March 15th letter, which is now a couple of weeks old.”

Nunes also reported that as of now, he “cannot rule out” President Obama ordering the surveillance.
And contrary to earlier media reports, Nunes clarified that the surveillance was not related to the FBI’s investigation into possible collusion with Russia. This surveillance, he emphasized to reporters, does not “have anything to do with Russia.”

They left will commit any crime, pay any bribe, say any lie ... and will Justified all as righteous...to try to take their enemies down.

This is “ends justify means”... in their mind they can and will do anything, go nuclear, to kill a fly.. and they feel totally justified..they are self-righteous

Ends justify the means is the root of Saul Alinsky

“You’ve got this really serious problem potentially of people in the Obama administration passing around highly classified gossip,” Wash/Po's Bob Woodward said. “The idea that there was intelligence value was really thin,” Woodward added."They knew this information was floating around the intelligence agencies."Woodward called the leaking of names “inappropriate” and possibly illegal. "If Nunes’ statements are true, it would be a “gross violation.”

===================================================

Adds up to major problems for Obama and his minions.

<><> clearly, the intent was to abuse Obama's executive power.

<><> the Obama minions got FISA court to approve a warrant submitted without Trump’s name but “which Obama then misused to spy on Trump and many connected to Trump.”

<><> that might mean perjury for lying to the FISA court,.

<><> Most serious is the dissemination of collected intelligence, including names of Americans, that should have been kept tightly classified.

(REAGANGENERATION2 HAT TIP)

===============================================

It is also entirely possible that Obama and his legal team may have perjured themselves before the FISA court by willfully withholding material information in order to manipulate the FISA court’s willingness to permit the government surveillance. And falsified official govt documents in the process.

American Media should acquire National Review and fix its editorial slant. Then put it on all the news racks.

Actually, Trump WAS, in fact, 100% correct in his Tweet. Even federal agents still refer to electronic surveillance as a “wiretap”, even though they no longer literally “tap” into a target’s phone line.

The important and as yet unmentioned point here is that, while there is such a thing as an “inadvertent” intercept, there is no such thing as inadvertent production of a report or transcript of a conversation. Preparation and production of an intelligence report or transcript is a VERY DELIBERATE act.

I can tell you with absolute certainty that Cong. Nunes went to the White House first to brief them on what he was given because he feared that it would be classified with all kinds of caveats and buried. No surprise that Schiff wants the investigation ceased due to compromise now that we have a target in sight...

Nunes was creeped out / scared / frantic wednesday afternoon.
He either saw a ghost, or dozens of reports. The revelation was enough that Nunes ran to his boss, Ryan, then the NSA and CIA, the press. And finally the Whitehouse.

What did Nunes read?
Opposition research dossier on Trump.
Opposition research files on his committee?
Evidence that Comey is behind all of this nonsense.

Trump claimed some real interesting stuff will be revealed over the next two weeks.

One week down, one to go.

It appears that Cummings, Schiff and other democrats are PO’d because they weren’t told that an investigation found they were guilty of crimes against the president; presumably because they didn’t have the chance to lawyer up or spin the information in a way as to indict Trump. Cummings, recall, was found to have conspired with the IRS to target conservative groups, so this type of illegal conspiracy is nothing new to him. Whether a criminal or a counterintel investigation, you don’t rush to the perp to announce that you have evidence against him before obtaining a warrant or taking other action to neutralize him.

Everyone’s down on Nunes- however- it’s —possible— that he didn’t share the info with schiff because of how schiff has been handling the investigation from the beginning, and thought the info was serious enough that the president should be the first to know- then the public- He —may have felt— that going to schiff would have given schiff time to concoct some lame excuse to ‘explain away’ the evidence- It could be that so many felonies have been committed that it was important ot get the info out to the Pres in an unbiased non watered down version first-

The way Schiff responded tells me that he is crapping his pants right now Schiff: ‘It’s Impossible to Know’ Whether I Was Previously Aware of this Surveillance”

Really? Did you put your depends on before making that ridiculous scarred rabbit statement? You knew Schiff- You chose to ignore it because it backed up Trump’s claim! No wonder Nunes didn’t go to you first!
