I would argue that there have always been several Republican plans that differed but agreed on several main conditions.
Pre existing conditions would be taken care of. The tax exemption for premiums would be extended to those not employer covered. Children to 26 would be covered by parents plan. All these were to be included in what ever came about.
My predicted scenario: The Ryancare Obamalite bill passes in the House today or in the next few days. Then the Senate ‘rats don’t pass it and it goes back to the House who write it correctly this time without entitlements, etc.
It might be premature to attack President Trump on this - he has veto power and will not sign a bill that is contrary to his campaign promises. I have full confidence in this.
True, especially if they expect other people to pay for it!
Our “conservatives” and our new president have made zero effort to take real, conservative reform to the people. Trump has the bully pulpit and this honeymoon phase of his presidency is his best chance to get get worthwhile legislation through.
But they’ve ended up as disingenuous and slippery as Obama, Zeke, and the Dems in selling an if anything worse version of Obamacare on us.
“For all its catastrophic flaws, ObamaCare changed expectations. Does any Republican propose returning to a time when you can be denied health insurance because of a pre-existing condition?”
What he is really asking is, “Does any Republican propose returning to a time when we had health care insurance?”
