FBI Director James Comey on Monday publicly refuted President Donald Trump's claim that the Obama administration wiretapped Trump Tower before the 2016 election, saying neither he nor the Justice Department have evidence to back the president's explosive tweets.
"With respect to the president's tweets about alleged wiretapping directed at him by the prior administration, I have no information that supports those tweets. And we have looked carefully inside the FBI. The Department of Justice has asked me to assure you that the answer is the same for the Department of Justice and all its components," Comey testified before the House Intelligence Committee.
It marks perhaps the strongest rebuke yet of Trump's allegations, which the bipartisan leaders of both the House and Senate intelligence committees said they have not seen evidence to support.

I figure Trump has had Comey’s number all along. Pretty soon even Comey is going to figure out just how done he is.
I don’t believe that Comey is as smart as trump, and certainly not as honest. I think Comey is going to get nailed.
I agree, and perhaps with good reason. Note his specific choice of words, including the pronoun “I”. This could mean that such information exists, maybe even within the FBI, but “plausible deniability”...

Yes, glad to see he’s so concerned about evidence. He also said under oath that Putin is consumed with hatred for Hillary - so much so that he directed a campaign to undermine her Presidential run. Where is Comey’s evidence concerning Putin’s emotional state and what is going on in his mind? Does he have wiretaps of Putin expressing his hatred for Hillary and giving out directions on how to undermine her?
Let’s see the evidence.
All roads lead to Clintons and Come is just their shill. He doesn’t need evidence when he can ascribe anything he wants to anyone and then put up a wall of confidentiality. Not dumping him day 1 was one of trumps biggest blunders to date. Sessions should have a team at the FBI finishing up the Hillary investigation and completing an investigation on the foundation and investigating election tampering when Hill and DWS blocked Bernie Sanders. These are the real crimes which are not being addressed.

The left is defining this issue based on a strict interpretation of a tweet - i.e. - Obama ordered a specific wiretap.
Trump must not let them get away with it. Fact - they monitored communications of people in the Trump camp. Fact - they changed the rules to allow that information to be disseminated far beyond the agencies/people who could have viewed it in the past. Fact - a person(s) with access to these reports of ILLEGAL monitoring of U.S. citizens leaked the information to the media (a felony).
If Trump does not say this over and over they will wear him down with the same lie repeated constantly.
He must not allow them to play Clintonian word games over this because we already know for a fact that a transcript of Flynn’s conversation (while he was on the Trump transition team no less) was leaked to the media. That is proof of what he said and it is proof that a felony crime occurred.
Furthermore - it is time for Trump to take off the gloves. If they want to play these games about “collusion with Russia” he should investigate the real collusion - the Clinton foundation and the decision(s) the former Sec. of State made that coincided with massive donations, speaking fees, and the promise of future reward.
There would a lot of fireworks but l think there is enough coverage to fire this punk now. Let Sessions do it. Why the hell has there not been the confirmation vote on the Asst. AG? The Obama holdover gave Comey permission to disclose the open investigation. Grassley’s excuse is gone.

Actually Trump is exactly correct. That is because virtually everyone is being wiretapped. It is just that the Trump team’s conversations are being extracted from the database and distributed all over the intelligence community. Which Obama did right before leaving office. So that means that, yes, Obama did wiretap Trump and his team. They thought they were so clever.
Trump can now say he just saw the information from a briefing, with more to come. This is perfectly timed to be revealed after Comey/Rogers testimony. It's great that the NSA is cooperating. It also forces a revelation about the FISA warrants.

Comey is just to funny. At the same time he says Trump has been under investigation since July 2016 for his ties with Russia. It probably was not wire tap in the literal sense put some type of modern surveillance techniques. Comey was playing with words IMHO.
“I have no information” carries a different meaning compared with “There is no information.”
What Comey means is the information is not on a sheet of paper folded up in his pocket.
