It's not rocket science. Drop the mandate. Allow companies to sell catastrophic insurance. Have a government option for pre-existing conditions and let it be for adequate care; that's it. For people who don't get insurance, how about a first-aid option, pay according to ability to do so?

They just can't stop it, across the aisle. That is telling us how nanny gov has to provide "wellness" and "nutrition counseling" and "health maintenance checkups". They say it's because it'll make people healthier. So, how do they explain the drug death epidemic, increased obesity and diabetes, and replacement body parts becoming a rite of passage? It's not sustainable to keep people alive longer if it requires unrestrained medications, doctor visits, freebies, checkups, procedures etc.

It's becoming harder every day to hope civilization can be saved.

"At the very top there's a lack of understanding of how to sell this bill," he said Wednesday

Obviously you sell it by telling whoppers like "You'll Be Able To Keep Your Same Doctor, You'll Keep Your Same Plan."

Oh Dear God.

And did he also say that we’ll have to pass this Republican health care bill so that we can know what’s in this Republican health care bill?

Allow companies to sell catastrophic insurance.

How many times have people on this forum talked about spending $10,000 or $15,000 or more for a plan that has a $10,000 deductible or higher? I have news for you. We're already at 'catastrophic insurance' and people can't afford it.

How about giving us our plans back that we had before we got the Obamacare Shaft?

You’ll be able to keep your same doctor, same plan, and the same RINOs in Congress.

I absolutely believe what he says ... This bill does little to change the basics of obamacare (or, if you prefer, mulattocare).

A "catastrophic insurance" policy would be for things that don't happen very often....serious accidents and deadly diseases. With a large deductible, that kind of policy wouldn't be that expensive.

That's what health insurance was before HMOs and managed care came along. Doctor visits, prescriptions, staying healthy, were the responsibility of individuals.

THIS IS DISGUSTING.

Too many squishy Elitists still in the GOP.

WE NEED TO HIRE MORE CONSERVATIVES. The LEFT is not going to stop tearing this “new” plan apart .. and I can’t keep my current plan (which I don’t like), because I’m moving out of State, and I have no idea what I’m going to encounter when I get there.

IF I WAS YOUNGER, I WOULD RUN MYSELF .. JUST TO STIR THINGS UP AND MAKE THE SQUISHY GOP FIND OUT THEY ARE DESERTING THE PEOPLE WHO VOTED FOR THEM.

You don't consider a $10,000 deductible to be large?

You're not hearing me. There are no policies today that are for catastrophes only. If we could purchase them, they'd be less expensive, and the person who chose to buy the insurance would choose according to the deductible you want. That's what you do with collision insurance on your car. You decide if it's worth more to have a lower deductible.

The policies under Obama Care can't work. It makes no sense to have insurance for regular, anticipated expenses.

You're not hearing me.

You're not making sense. Define 'catastrophic insurance' for me. What would it cover? What would the deductible be?

Catastrophic insurance would ONLY cover major injuries and illnesses. These are things that don’t happen very often, can’t be predicted, and one couldn’t afford on their own. Example....cancer, covered. Hospital visit over a certain amount of time, covered. Auto accident over the decuctible, covered. Prescriptions, doctor visits, wellness programs etc....not insured.
