Susan E. Rice was national security adviser from 2013 to 2017 and U.S. permanent representative to the United Nations from 2009 to 2013.
Last week, the British intelligence agency GCHQ took the rare step of debunking as utterly ridiculous the Trump administrations insinuation that Britain spied on Donald Trump during the 2016 campaign. On Monday, FBI Director James B. Comey testified plainly that I have no information that supports President Trumps accusations that his predecessor ordered the wires tapped at Trump Tower. These false statements from the White House are part of a disturbing pattern of behavior that poses real and potentially profound dangers to U.S. national security.
The foundation of the United States unrivaled global leadership rests only in part on our military might, the strength of our economy and the power of our ideals. It is also grounded in the perception that the United States is steady, rational and fact-based. To lead effectively, the United States must maintain respect and trust. So, when a White House deliberately dissembles and serially contorts the facts, its actions pose a serious risk to Americas global leadership, among friends and adversaries alike.
First, U.S. power is frequently a function of our ability to rally other countries to join our cause. President George H.W. Bush famously gathered some 30 countries to expel Saddam Hussein from Kuwait in 1991. President George W. Bush enlisted NATO and other countries to fight

ValJar....still moochin’ off the taxpayer. These despots are the murk and muck, in the deepest valleys of the swamp.
The same Susan Rice who said that desrter Bergdhal served with “distinction.”
This is some kind of performance art skit right?...
The same White House liar Susan Rice who went on 5 different Sunday morning shows to blame Benghazi on a youtube video is saying this?..
Friggin' liar has a lot of nerve.
And hypocrisy.
Not saying he's an angel, but his video was in no way responsible for the Benghazi attack. He was chosen to take the fall to cover Obumagabe and Hildebeast's neglect and incompetence.
And Rice lied her a$$ off on national TV.
She’s taking a shellacking at WaPo comments.
No credibility - proven liar. Should keep her trap shut.
Thanks for documenting the fraud of Valerie Jarrett for us. It’s outrageous.
It makes me think of an another reason why the “Russians colluded with Trump” story surfaced.
Usually the press, with a little investigative digging, can come up with a lot of dirt about any politician you can think of.
So when the press starts making stories up, it’s because they are struggling to find anything damaging, even as they are determined to destroy him or her.
This portends well over the next several years. Trump, and the way he ran his campaign, must be squeaky clean by Washington standards! And this is causing a world of hurt for the Fake News outlets.
The editors know Fake News (when challenged as Trump is doing) will kill their long term reputation, but they nonetheless are compelled by 1) their leftist ideology; 2) orders by puppet masters to “bring Trump down or lose your job”; and 3) fear of Arkanacide against themselves or their families.
The media’s search for Trump’s Kryptonite will continue, but I think Americans will tire of the Fake News and continue to damage the media financially.
Of course, a guy like Bezos (owner of WaPo) doesn’t really care if WaPo makes any money at all. He invested in the newspaper to exert political influence.
Says the expert.
They are excoriating her in the comments at the WaPo site.
Isn’t it ironic......
Just another liberal hypocrite projecting onto those she looks down upon. Scum.
She is no more a hypocrite than is Ivanka Trump for hiring Jamie Gorelick as an “ethics advisor”
a pox on all their houses
Speaking of Fake news.....
I hear Bezos is hiring Whoppi Goldberg to write a column on beauty tips.
It pays to be a crooked politician.
While “a tad messy”, the French Revolution did accomplish some interesting things.
That headline from a creature like Rice is a real beaut.
