A few years ago I decided to google this trend of female teachers sleeping with male students. It was all I was hearing about.
Turns out it is significanly more common for male teachers to sleep with female students, but that is a “dog bites man” story, so it’s rarely reported outside of the local community.
This type of story is much more titillating.
Stats are hard to find on this issue, although the male on female version is probably significantly higher. I caution however, that a much higher percentage of male on female incidents are reported by the victim and parents than the other way around. The comments in this thread regarding “guilt” are indicative of the underlying reasons.
Additionally, there is lots of female on female incidents that are way below the radar.
These opinions are from my experiences in criminal justice related directly to these matters. Others may certainly have their own opinions that differ.
With the female teacher/male student, there's little need for coercion, as the female teacher (and theoretically, responsible party) controls the spigot, so to speak. The male student simply needs an opportunity in most cases. Therefore, the 'responsible adult' should have controlled whether or not the relationship happened.

There were a couple of male teacher/female student relationships that were common knowledge at my high school the late 1970s. The speech team coach on those weekend trips to tournaments in particular.
I would not be too sure about that.

More accepting to. If you did a poll, 100 percent would be gainer a guy doing this and MAYBE 15 percent against a woman teacher.
