Socialism’s Rising Popularity Threatens America’s Future

It starts early - conservatives, moderates and even soft liberals have let the hard left take over our public school systems by default. Children are indoctrinated into left-wing social and political views that most of their parents would consider extreme or radical. The inculcation of left-wing dogma starts in K-12 and obviously goes all the way through university education. If America is to avoid going down the same road to self-destruction that Europe is traveling, there needs to be a huge resurgence in conservative K-12 teachers and there's no sign of this happening.

Yes but that’s when the Republic died with tbe decisions in Wsst Coast Hotel v. Parish, United States v. Carolene Products, and Wickard v. Filburn. Since those cases, the governmsnt has recongnized no limits on how it can take your property and control your life.

Another thread today focuses on a poll by something called GenForward. GenForward - just review the signage and symbolism incorporated into the past 9 years of Democrat Party campaigning literature!

All of that imagery plants, and replants, this idea as representative of that Party.

Yet, in reality, however, Far Left domination of the Party, when enacted into policy and laws is anything but "forward" into anything except individual liberty, opportunity, wealth creation, and rule of law under a Constitution which limits government power.

Now, visit the CPUSA web site! See any similarities??

Enough said.

“Thanks, fellow BabyBoomers and Greatest Generationers.”

Hey Pardner.

Please don’t include every Baby-Boomer in your blanket accusations and don’t include every member of the so-called
Greatest Generation.

There were no votes for freebies here, present and past.

So, please, rein it in a bit and don’t do what Progressives do in the way of brilliant, intellectual generalizations from
half-baked information.

Thanks. (This Baby-Boomer served, is the son of Greatest Generationer who left Europe with a Purple Heart, a limp, and lots of memories.)

There’s a comment to the article by a leftist millenial named Sean Goddard that’s worth reading. He makes a point that I agree with, which is that no one believes in socialism anymore, not in the sense of government owning the means of production. That argument is over and we won it. What people mean by socialism now is a redistributionist nanny state with a capitalist economy. In other words, as he says, they basically mean Denmark. Whether America should be more like a European style social democracy is the real argument, and it is very much in play with a lot of Americans.

Ain’t it funny how the right can also go trite?

America needs God even more badly than it needs an empty political philosophy of any kind.

If neither you nor your father ever voted for a big-government Socialist, then I grant you absolution.

Obviously, the likes of Ted Kennedy, LBJ, Jimmy Carter, et al, couldn't have been elected unless our fellow Boomers and GGers (yes, even those who served and came home with Purple Hearts and limps) voted for them.

It will take a resurgence of faith in full biblical dimensions (including private charity/generosity in God’s name) to head off turning into Denmark.

Reagan couldn’t have known that muzzies are worse than Soviets.

The Soviets feared death. Radical Muslims don't.

This is a clear sign of government stepping into a Christ vacuum in the context of a rotting remnant of Christianity.

They really don’t understand what the problem is with socialism. They believe that “capitalism is evil because it is about greed”. No, capitalism is nothing more than two or more parties engaging in a mutually beneficial transaction. It’s only a problem when there’s a monopoly, which is what anti-trust laws are for. They don’t get that capitalism is responsible for their standard of living and for raising billions out of poverty.

Socialism makes great promises, it “feels” good. The way I explain the problem with it; the “best interests” of the collective trump the rights of the individual. And who decides these “best interests”? Those in power, so your rights only exist so long as these people feel they won’t cause trouble. The first to go is free speech, as saying the “wrong” things may lead to unrest. This is completely backward. In the USA, what is in the best interests of the individual, individual rights, is what is in the best interests of the collective.

They’re completely opposed. In an ironic way, Europe will save the USA - their problems are only going to escalate and will become an example of what NOT to do. We have a window of time to learn from their mistakes. I’ll be shocked if there’s not civil wars within 10yrs, at least equal levels of unrest - and maybe sooner.

I'll be high and mighty if I want. If any of us ever voted for a big-government Libturd just because he or she promised us an increase in our Socialist Security benefits of Medicare or number of other goodies and freebies, it is high time we acknowledged our complicity in selling our children down the river for our own "security".

I doubt if there are many of us who can deny we didn't ship our kids off to be "educated" by others so we didn't have to bother with it.

Now we turn around and piss and moan about where they get their fool notions about how the world works.

If you didn't, congratulations, your conscience should be clear and you have no reason to think or assume I am being "high and mighty".

The first step in rescuing our children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren from the clutches of Socialism is acknowledging that we contributed to the problem.

Again, if you played no role in that, go in peace. I hold you blameless.

If a country with a memory of Christianity has no Christ, do not be surprised if it invents one.

Many more of the “hippie” and leftists voted these azzholes in office than veterans of WWII, Korea, and Vietnam...

Look at the socialist actions of the 60’s...

John Kerry and John McCain were Vietnam Veterans.

Jes' sayin'.

There's nothing about military service that precludes voting for someone who promised goodies and handouts.
