I remember those days. I was driving between Ely and Las Vegas NV going about 85 MPH when I was pulled over by the NV Highway Patrol. The officer informed me that I was speeding and asked if I saw the speed limit sign that said the speed limit was 55 MPH. I said “no sir.” He told me it was 40 miles behind me. He then said “slow down and have a nice day.”

There is, however, regarding electricity.

Going to be fun when Jeff Session starts locking up Mayors for obstruction of justice.

“There is, however, regarding electricity.”

You know, this kind of talk is just stupid! Yeah, we do import some electricity from the Northwest in dry years here. That’s what a country does to serve all of it’s citizens. And FWIW, California essentially feeds the entire country in many areas of food production. So do you think that this issue deserves an interstate trade war? Get serious! Trump needs to take on the worthless RAT establishment here in CA and do whatever is necessary to get compliance with our immigration laws. That’s the issue, not water, not electricity, and not foodstuffs.

Speaking of state's rights and such, every program cut from the federal budget means that states get to choose if they want to take on those functions. If the federal government cuts money to Meals on Wheels, the states can increase their contribution to make up the difference. Bit by bit, states will take on more responsibility paying for illegal immigrants. Each decision the states make will be, do I want to spend money on the citizens, or do I want to spend money on illegals.

Pretty soon, citizens, even in blue states, will question the money going to illegals when they see their own taxes going up compared to non-sanctuary cities and states. Then we will flip more blue states. Illegal immigration is not a winning issue, it will split the democrat party.

From what I see at this site - especially going by the map - CA has 2 sources derived from the CO River supplying water. The Colorado River Aqueduct & the All American Canal.

https://mavensnotebook.com/the-notebook-file-cabinet/californias-water-systems/the-colorado-river-systems

It seems there are a lot of legalities involved as to who owns what and who has rights to what.
But I suspect a state can’t wholly own a river which defines part of it’s border but is not within the state’s borders.

The better idea is simply to pull all the customs agents out of ports located in sanctuary cities and pull all the customs agents from international airports located in sanctuary cities.

These cities would cry Uncle faster than you can say Uncle.

Can you imagine what would happen to Hawaii’s economy if the customs agents were all pulled from Honolulu’s Airport? No Incoming International flights.

States rights does not allow them to break the law or ignore the Constitution.

They DO NOT have a right to any federal funding.

Just send federal marshals to arrest mayors and governors on felony harboring charges and this crap will stop overnight.

I think they got it backwards. It is a fight where Trump has nothing to lose.

Big difference imo. And you cannot measure the wins or losses just by court rulings. There is also a PR battle for hearts and minds, for votes, for congressional districts, for campaign funds for candidates... And more, including a fight in DC between the Executive and Legislative branches and all that entails (fundraising, lobbying, endorsements for key races, challengers, seats to flip etc).

Since Trump has nothing to lose, he has every incentive to go balls out. This is what these never Trump protestors don't quite understand. By being so quick to react harshly negative, they discourage any form of compromise whatsoever. They will complain vociferously no matter what, so Trump has nothing to lose going for all the marbles. The left ran the most hateful campaign perhaps ever (and there were some pretty mean ones back in the day), not just questioning his inexperience in office and his policy proposals. but attacking his very character as a human being, casting him as a heartless racist xenophobe sexist cheating stealing liar... There is no defense for any of that (which is why he ignored it, and why they played those cards). But they went way too far and left themselves no room to walk it back. They brainwashed themselves into forgetting everything they knew about him over the last 40 years and installing in their minds a caricature invented by the Hillary campaign. They wanted to believe that hate to justify their support for the very weak candidate Hillary.

The names they called him (sexist, racist) are the thought crimes few people can forgive. So now these leftists are stuck in a negative feedback loop whereby "we must hate racists for the good of the world, and whatever racists do is automatically suspected as evil, and Trump is a racist, so go back to the beginning of this sentence". And besides the fact that this perpetual rejection of all things Trump is simply moronic and devoid of reason or logic, these leftists have put all their advances in jeopardy. If they reconciled and forgave and started to use polite reasoned arguments they might actually be heard, and may moderate Trump's aggressiveness, and may possibly retain some of what they want or even gain a thing or two. But they do not see that, they are past sensibility. Trump has nothing to lose, his opponents have put everything at risk and will lose some of their advances including their ability to advance an agenda in the future.

“It seems there are a lot of legalities involved as to who owns what and who has rights to what.
But I suspect a state can’t wholly own a river which defines part of it’s border but is not within the state’s borders.”

When Boulder Dam was built there was a collateral Federal Water Compact, that apportioned the water (and the electricity generated) behind the dam between AZ and CA. Interestingly, Las Vegas didn’t get any water from Lake Mead, although I think it does now. Until recent years, AZ didn’t take all the water to which it was entitled, so SoCal took it. Now though, as AZ has developed agriculturally and has grown in population, it has started taking it’s full allotment, which has reduced the water going into SoCal at a time when they have already lost an environmental lawsuit which has cut their ability to take water from the Owens River (which runs out of Mono Lake, and the Eastern Sierra watershed). So they are having to rely on water from the Western Sierras and the northern dams like Oroville and Shasta, which also serve Northern California and our Centra Valley ag business. Furthermore, thanks to Jerry Brown, the RATs, and their envirowacko buddies, despite the fact that our population has doubled, we’ve not built a single major water storage facility since 1979. There’s a lot more to the story, but those are the basics.
