Kaepernick’s is a classic “you made your bed, now lie in it” situation. Note how he decided (once in free agency) he’d start standing during the National Anthem again.

He sometimes wears a T-shirt that says “I know my rights.” And other NFL teams are expressing their right of refusal to go anywhere near Kaepernick and his antics.

NFL teams would sign Jack the Ripper if he had a QB rating of 93 or higher. Kaepernick isn’t being considered because he’s shown he can’t perform consistently enough at the pro level.

The NFL and MLB pension plans both have extremely generous vesting. One day as an active player on an NFL roster during the regular season = 100% vesting. Of course, the benefit isn’t much until you begin to accrue more service time.

Mercury News is a racist website and has about the same credibility as the neo-Nazi Stormfront. The site should be banned from FR, IMO.

Source on that.

I read, later on the thread, it's liberal. It's also a 'mainstream' newspaper, that is to say, it's also #FakeNews.

“Sorry about the passive aggressive way of asking. Much like asking if you still beat your wife I suppose.”

I was merely pointing out to submarinerswife about the retirement situation for NFL players. She had asked about the retirement plan. My intent was only to address that issue.

Years ago like maybe in the early 70s the retirement plan was as I stated at 5 years. It apparently has changed over the years.

Otherwise, I do not care to comment on racism except to say that, as you have said, black, African-Americans and Mexican-Americans are THE most bigoted, prejudiced racists on the planet.

OK, NFL players get a token pension. If a player has the average career of about four years he gets less than $2000 a month - at age 55. If he hasn't saved, what does he do for the next 30 years?

It is a fact that most of them end that average career with no savings.
