I can’t *say* that appeals to me, either and I’m a woman.

Oy.

The Americans is excellent. I have seen all of the episodes so far except for the season that just started which is on my DVR. I just finished season 2 of High Castle. It was good but got a little weird for me. I still really enjoyed it.

The wife and I watch a lot of British TV. Peaky Blinders, The Fall, Poldark, and we just started watching Bletchley Circle. We finally finished Downton Abbey last week so I am missing that. We recently watched a series on Amazon called The Tunnel that I can’t recommend enough. The British shows are just so much better than a lot of stuff on here. I am seeking them out because I enjoy them so much.

Thanks, BRC. I will definitely try The Americans. I watched The Night Manager, a British miniseries, which I liked very much.

With that experience and your recommenation, I will look for other British series as well!

Kevin Can Wait has gotten funnier. More importantly, it is *truly* family friendly. There have been times they have completely ignored what would have been an opportunity for a sexual joke on every other show. Plus, they not only go to mass, but they don’t complain or roll their eyes about doing so (Kevin James is a devout Catholic). It’s really refreshing for 2017. It’d have been refreshing for 1987.

Then, there are shows like HBO's Game of Thrones with 10 episodes PER YEAR. One would think with a successful, popular show that they would be doing 20+ episodes a year -- before the popularity fades.

That's why the popularity fades. Too many episodes. People get tired.

Game of Thrones is doing exactly what they ought to be doing. Concentrating on putting out a few well made episodes that advance the story.

And because of that, people are still watching. If you lose track of what happened between seasons, there's the DVD, or on demand, or screenings on other channels.

Look at how much junk television turned out when they absolutely had to shot and show 20 or 30 episodes a season. TV is better than it ever was. The broadcast networks are as bad as they always were. What's worth watching is on cable or streaming services.

I started watching “The Americans” yesterday. Thanks again for the recommendation, BRC! I’m quite pleased!

You are very welcome. It is a cool show. It definitely keeps you coming back for more. I thought of another one for you that I have been watching lately. it is “Sherlock” and it is on Netflix. It had Benedict Cumberbatch as a modern day Sherlock Holmes. Each episode is about 90 minutes long. They are each like a mystery movie. Also really enjoying The Bletchley Circle. I think I mentioned that one though.
