A laptop computer containing floor plans for Trump Tower, information about the Hillary Clinton email investigation and other national security information was stolen from a Secret Service agent's vehicle in Brooklyn, police sources told the Daily News.

The thief stepped out of a car, possibly an Uber, on a street in Bath Beach and stole the laptop from the agent's vehicle, which was parked in the driveway of her home.

The thief also took "sensitive" documents and the agent's access keycard, though the level of the agent's access wasn't immediately clear.

How convenient that the agent left all that stuff in his car so his cohort the perp could steal it all.

"Who leaves a laptop in their car?"

One that is complicit in a crime. I'm surprised he didn't leave his firearm as well.

I am in the financial industry. If I lose my laptop or mobile devices, it would destroy my business. They don’t contain national secrets, just client info like address, DOB, et al (not acct numbers). I NEVER leave them unsecured.

Either this agent is an idiot or sold the items... or both. Fire her.

There's a lot more going on here. Where's the NSA when we NEED them. Also, that SS agent should be locked up or under surveillance until we find out who she handed the laptop to...

Should have been locked in the trunk.

They should fire her, the head of Secret Service and every tenth agent randomly.

this agency is cursed, it’s totally incompetent.

it sounds like a quieter version of the BATF, almost.

—————There is the possibility that she did this intentionally. ———————

Would be a hoot if it was found to have been an SS agent from obamas White House detail.

Another “activist” hitlery-ite, like the section chief female in Colorado, who was removed from her job, because she said she wouldn’t “take a bullet” for our President? Any agent that leaves this kind of equipment in stealable location— deep interrogation, firing w/out pension. Incredible.

There is the possibility that she did this intentionally.

That's where I'm leaning on this. Pretty convenient that she left materials of such a sensitive nature in her car and then 'someone' in an Uber just happens to pull up, go to her car and steal it all. Pretty suspicious to say the least.

“Government employees are, for the most part, morons anyway.”

That’s why Trump needs to confiscate all the firearms in the possession of non-direct law enforcement based government agents. If that a$$hole BLM “agent” hadn’t left his handgun in his car in San Francisco, Kate Steinle would be alive today. And the cold hard fact of the matter is that if that gun had been taken out of an ordinary citizen’s car, that person would have been tried, found guilty and be serving jail time as this is being written.

Better question

Who knows a laptop is left in a car and hires someone to take them there to steal it?
Who steals said laptop knowing (we hope) that it is encrypted beyond anyone’s ability to decrypt the data?
Only one answer: A spy.
If you and I had such a laptop, it would at least be kept in the trunk.

Another good question: why are the contents of said laptop even being publicized?

Exactly unless they are hoping the thief decides to try and sell the data. You pose as the buyer and get the laptop back.
OR the buyer turns on the laptop and it shows its location. If I am the SS, that little button that turns off wireless would be disconnected.
