Why Trump may dump House Republicans
New York Post ^ | March 16, 2017 | 7:00pm | Rich Lowry

The bill has had the worst rollout of any major piece of legislation in memory, and failure is very much an option. If the proposal falters, it will be a political debacle that could poison President Trump’s relationship with Congress.

This is a product of how the Republican sweep of 2016 was won on separate tracks. Trump tore up many Republican orthodoxies and went out and found a different way to unlock the electoral map, winning in the industrial Midwest.

Congressional Republicans more or less stuck with the usual script, kept Trump at arm’s length and held their majorities in the House and the Senate.

As a result, there’s no significant Trumpist wing in Congress. The faction most favorable to him, the House Freedom Caucus, is made up of ideological conservatives whose philosophy is at odds with Trump’s economic populism, if not his anti-establishmentarianism.

The congressional priorities are ObamaCare repeal and tax reform, both of which could easily have been the first-year agenda items of the aforementioned Presidents Bush, Rubio or Cruz. They’ll have to be passed without Democratic votes and through the Senate reconciliation process that circumvents the filibuster.

It’s true that Trump promised to deliver on both, but neither was part of his core message or won over marginal Trump voters.

What the Uniparty Republicans are missing is this:

President Trump pulled ALL the wool from the eyes of his Deplorables.

They've had roughly SIX years to craft an alternative.

They just whined about "0bamacare", and effed off the whole time, instead.

They got nothing, and we all know it.

The whole time they were nothing more than actors in the kabuki theater.

They never expected their bluff to be called, DJT was not supposed to win.

Hillary was supposed to be president, and they were supposed to be impressing us by sending her endless repeal bills that go nowhere.

But now it counts, and now they are standing naked on their kabuki stage looking like a bunch of fools.

Busted!

They were full of sh!t the entire time, and they always have been, and they always will be.

Lowry is right that Trump won without the preachy know-it-all R Party, so now, what does he do with the b@$+@#&$?

Ryan is set upon icing Trump, from giving him any leadership credit, but for the cold eyed perfunctory murmurings just to keep the peace.

This healthcare thing doesn’t yet sound anything like what Trump had in mind.

Maybe Phase 92 will bring it.

Ryan and McConnell have been sabotaging and slow rolling the President on legislation and confirmations. They think we can't do anything about it.

Trump will play it out as long as he thinks it is of benefit to him. Then we will have a big messy public debate and a whole lot of Republican primaries.

I don't know of any other way to squeeze the E out of the GOP-E.

The uniparty Republicans have one over-riding characteristic: they are lazy slobs at the trough. Not one of them understands the first thing about what it means to work. They are all low-energy Jebs. They want to sit on their fat asses and collect money from people who want to buy them. They’ve never done one second of real work for their constituents in their sick, sordid, embezzling careers. They are the lowest maggots of human existence. Fat pigs collecting money for nothing.

And like all psychotic criminals, they think themselves superior to everyone around them...regardless that they are the most inferior creatures ever spawned by the human organism. Their poster child is John McCain. No more worthless human trash has ever drawn breath.

what a headline.

Pence, the whips and the legislative teams are working the House. Multiple meetings are happening with the Freedom Caucus, the Republican Study committee and individual members. Ideas are being run by the CBO. Trump is also personally involved. Things are in high gear behind the scenes and lots of horsetrading is going on to get the phase 1 bill through, including possibly concurrently amending it as it hits the floor.

McConnell, McCain, Graham and Ryan all believe they’re more powerful than the president. The only reason they haven’t tried to impeach him is they’re not sure what the people would do.

We need to pray for Trump’s safety constantly. The elites will do anything to stop him. And they have the support of every Hillary voter to do whatever is necessary.

This is another National Review faker backing Ryan and his decision to move Obamacare 2.0 further to the *left* to get a handful of Democrat votes to offset the actual conservative holdouts in Congress.

Best paragraph I've read about obamacare repeal and replace for a long time.

Little Richard has no clue that Trump is the force behind the curtain, and is pushing these congress critters along his route.

The establishment continues to 'misunderestimate' President Trump.

President Trump, President Trump, President Trump, President Trump, President Trump, just like how it sounds.

The entire political bickering fiasco is destroying the entire country. Unless and until both the congress and senate decide to put their bull shit on the shelf and start working with Trump, we are in for a very long four years. Most importantly, Trump was elected by the American majority and IS the OFFICIAL PRESIDENT OF THE U.S. so GET OVER IT! However, the senate and congress were also elected to run the business of this country. Contrary to their individual beliefs on how things should be done, they can be replaced one by one. The “rino’s have the opportunity to do great things IF/WHEN they decide to work with Trump, the real concern is WILL THEY?

Every member of Congress is “more powerful” than the President in his own way. We don’t live in a dictatorship. We live in a representative republic where most power is supposed to be vested in Congress.
