Appearing in an interview with Fox News host Tucker Carlson, President Donald Trump said he would not be where he was if it wasn’t for his ability to speak directly to Americans through Twitter. “Well, let me tell you about Twitter,” Trump said to Carlson. “I think that maybe I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for Twitter, because I get such a fake press, such a dishonest press.”

I’m sure that it burns the LSM Gerbilists that they have to get up at 4 am to report on tweets.

I personally love his Tweets. Imagine. Such an intimate connection to our POTUS.

It’s wonderful. Why should a leader be denied communication with his people.

Quite possible true. I don’t think he started out thinking Twitter would be such a great tool but it became one.

Franklin Roosevelt used radio and his "fireside chats" (carefully written monologues, really) that established an unprecedented rapport with millions of citizens. It was revolutionary in its time and flummoxed a Republican Party that had held power for all but a few interludes since the Civil War.

Twitter is the digital 21st century equivalent that connects a president directly to his constituents. In Trump's case it also leaves his critics sitting in a pile of smoky rubble when they attack him on paper ink and he responds with methods decades in advance of that. Yeah, I'm beginning to conclude the f***er's brilliant.

No one's saying it: Twitter was around for Obama's presidency. He could have used it. Why didn't he??

Because he didn't want to communicate with the American people.

In the run-up to the election Joe Scarborough would lecture Trump on how he should be more like other politicians... more like JEB.

Tucker made the same mistake last night... Trump knows what he’s doing - an interview without ‘poli sci 101’ lectures would be welcomed...

It was too much work for Obama. Plus that is too many words to put together in a sentence. Every twit from Obama would have been uh, uh, and I, I, me, me, me, uh, uh, uh, ..

Obama didn’t use Twitter bc the fake news media delivered his propaganda better than he could. The media is out to destroy Trump, so Twitter is an invaluable tool to circumvent them.

I like his Twitter. Sometimes, I do wish he would mull something over before he tweets but I still like it.

Because he didn't want to communicate with the American people.

And because he's a mouth-breathing dimbulb.

Twitter is like the Napoleonic Wars. Think "muskets", "smoothbore cannon", and very few "rifle sharpshooters", and you've got the gist of it.

Massed fire works best. President Trump's Tweets are like artillery fire of the era.

It's amusing how the Leftie Progtards call him "stupid".

He's a LOT smarter than my HS valedictorians, and I was smarter than them. Just lazy, and absorbed in reading. 😀

How sure can you be that he doesn’t plan his tweets very carefully? They may not be as spontaneous as they appear.

While yours is the correct answer, so is mine: obama never felt
He was representing us. Never cared to
Communicate with us. He and his owners knew better than us what was good for us.

The main story is 1) the press totally opposed Trump including false and deceitful "news" 2) Trump found a way to blast through their false reports.

Twitter happened to be the tool de jour.
