ORLANDO, Fla. - Gov. Rick Scott has reassigned the Markeith Loyd case after State Attorney Aramis Ayala announced Thursday morning that she will not be seeking the death penalty.
Scott originally called for Ayala to recuse herself from the case. When she refused, Scott removed her from the case and assigned it to Fifth Judicial Circuit State Attorney Brad King in an executive order issued Thursday afternoon.

Loyd is accused of killing his pregnant ex-girlfriend, 24-year-old Sade Dixon, in Pine Hills on Dec. 13 and Orlando police Lt. Debra Clayton at an Orlando Walmart on Jan. 9. He was arrested on Jan. 17, bringing a nine-day manhunt to an end.

Thank the Lord that Governor Scott intervened.
Democrats never recuse themselves, something Republicans need to learn!
Whether Christians should support or oppose the death penalty is an orthodoxy issue, only germane in the general sense to this situation.
Whether a prosecutor should seek the death penalty in a case is an issue of facts and law. In this instance, the facts make it clear the crime was multiple aggravated murders, and the state law is clear that the crime merits the death penalty, so a prosecutor refusing to seek the death penalty is either working from a lack of evidence, or is not acting in accordance with the office of prosecutor.

Death penalty x 10. Sub animals like Loyd should be wiped off the face of the earth. Gov Scott did the Trump thing removing stupid inept libtards.
Good. And I hope they convict and get the DP.
Let’s see if Ayala goes to the next page in the libs’ playbook: go to Court and seek an injunction against the Governor.

If Jesus didn’t support the death penalty, Christianity would not exist.
I’m available for jury duty, if needed.

God specified that murder was to be punished by death because of the nature of man. Man is created in Gods own image (Genesis 1:27). As murder destroys an image-bearer, it is a direct affront to God Himself. Humans are unique among Gods creationsnone of the animals are created in Gods likenessand murder is a unique crime.
“...she was elected by a majority of votes by the good voters of her County. They said, via their votes, that she was the one they wanted. Let them live with her. They deserve each other. “
So you don’t give a damn about the dead victims? Just wait until one of them is one of your relatives. Then you will “begin to give a damn.” BTW, Governor Scott acted in accordance with the applicable Florida Law.
He not only gave it, He ordered it.
Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.
Genesis 9:6
Agreed. A judge had to enter a plea for him:
He is worse than an animal though. Pine Hills is the hood of the hood. Someone told Officer Clayton that Lloyd was spotted. For someone to snitch in that area...well.
I stand corrected.
The Bible says thou shalt not kill and it is mistranslated. it means murder. but it also says if you commit murder, criminal homicide, you should/will be put to death.

Scott needs to redeem himself after having thrown George Zimmermann under the bus in a futile attempt to appease BLM types.
“What I do know is that, if she is the State Attorney, she was elected by a majority of votes by the good voters of her County. They said, via their votes, that she was the one they wanted.”
Yes, she is elected. And I believe she has taken an oath to uphold the Florida Constitution and state laws. This includes the use of the death penalty where appropriate.
This state attorney has now said she doesn’t intend to seek the death penalty - ever. And the reason: she doesn’t like the death penalty - doesn’t like the laws she has sworn to uphold.
She is in the wrong job, in the wrong state.
