Seething U.S. Journalists Angered About Taking Commercial Flights To Cover Secretary Tillerson in Asia
A Reuters filing en route to Asia showcases the bitterness, anger and seething rage of U.S. journalists who have been forced to fly First-Class Commercial to cover Secretary of State Rex Tillersons Asia trip.
State Department correspondents are used to the exclusive wide-body private charters of the U.S. federal governments airline fleet. Previous heads of the Department of State have flown aboard Air Force 3. Normally a Boeing 757. At the very worst Air Force 3 would be a C17 Globemaster.
However, T-Rex is taking a smaller jet to Asia and only one journalist accompanies him. To make matters exponentially worse, T-Rex did not select a journalist from the corporate stable of the refined and pedigreed media elites. We can only imagine how Andrea Mitchell must be seething at having to take simple first-class commercial flight accommodations with ordinary people. The scope of the almost unimaginable horror she has to face will soon pour from her pursed and vengeful lips. We can predict a retaliatory report soon from the wrath of the ignored elitist within NBC. This shall be, as they say, epic.
Secretary Tillerson has rebuked customs and norms. The traveling correspondents will have to pass through customs and passport checks as if they are ordinary travelers. There is a very real possibility no-one will recognize them or care diligently for their very individual and specific needs.

I really hope the media companies are paying, not the taxpayers!!
This
or this?
Need I say it:
Best. Election. Ever.

Among the disgusting aspects of a liar “journalist” riding commercial is that I might have a “journalist” on a plane with me. Other than as an opportunity to ridicule and laugh-at them, THAT is disgusting!
Remember all the grumbling back in the summer of 2001 (just before the 9/11 attacks) about journalists going to then-President George W. Bush’s summer home just outside Crawford, TX literally in the middle of nowhere? :-)
These news organizations no longer have Asia-based correspondents?
That’s a shame.
Reuters cut 2,000 jobs just last November.
Or the media could just make up a story about the trip. They’re pretty good at that.
They are not being forced to fly commercial.. they could always rent a private jet if it bothered them that much.
Government has flown illegal aliens and refugees to cities across America who quite obviously have no documentation of who they truly are. For us, however, we are treated like criminals and most prove ourselves to TSA.
“The new organizations are supposed to be losing money. Why would they pay for their employees to fly First Class???”
Better that their companies pay than us taxpayers. Trump is probably behind this move. The MSM has met their match in President Trump. He will make their lives miserable, and that’s a good thing. All this “winning” is just plain wonderful!
Personally, I think this is hilarious....
Should’ve ALWAYS been this way.....
First Class=$16,000
No, a flight like that in First (remember this isn’t a trip that was planned nine months ago for your 25th anniversary) is going to be well over $10,000 round trip, likely closer to $14,000 due to the late booking date.
I appreciate Sec. Tillerson using a smaller and much less expensive jet to travel on.
Excellent!
Make those companies pay for the travel.
******
I’m not certain, but don’t the media companies reimburse the Feds when they are riding on AF1 and other government-type charters to cover a travelling story? IF they do, I think the reimbursement is only at the cheap commercial plane (maybe as cheap as coach) rate, and not at the actual cost a seat is on the US govt. plane.
So, I think they aren’t bitching about the cost; they are probably paying the same $ anyway. Their rage is over not getting a comfortable spot on a junket and instead having to deal with all the hassles us normal travelers have to go through if we had to travel overseas.
That’s a shame...
If this article is meant to make me smile all I can say is Mission Accomplished.
Not that I REALLY care, but noticed BJ’s wife’s main squeeze isn’t in sight....
Yes. They are weak, enervated and pampered. Run ‘em to rags and bones!
Phukem!
On second thought, they may indeed be spending more, if the gvt reimbursement rate was based on coach and they are travelling 1st Class on short notice.
Also, remember Andrea Mitchell’s stunt shouting questions at T-Rex a week or so ago at a no-question-allowed photo-opp? Paybacks are a beyotch...
