Repeal or watch this become TrumpCare.

I am okay with a three-step plan, if it’s the right path.

Step 1 should be Trump executive orders:
Parallel with the waivers Obama granted to unions and others with connections (and referencing those waivers), President Trump should grant every American citizen and every American business a lifetime waiver on all Obamacare mandates and penalties.

Step 2 should be legislation:
Once Obamacare’s fangs have been drawn, only then should we negotiate a repeal and not replace bill. We need that evil law dead so that liberals have no leverage.

Step 3 should be any replacement that is desired:
My vote is tort reform, interstate sales of medical insurance, and other free market options.

Cotton is SPOT ON in his assessment of the situation. The first legislation needs to have ALL the essential pieces and NOTHING that needs to be ameliorated.

“Border security and enforcement will come after amnesty”

We have heard this song before.

Won’t get fooled again.

My plan is simple. Hold weekly votes in both houses on full 100% repeal, launch an all-out PR campaign targeting vulnerable democrats on Obamacares death spiral in their district, and squeeze them to the point they surrender and vote to repeal.

Lather, rinse, repeat.

There is one step and a bunch of promises. Come to think of it the first step is nothing but a bunch of promises as well.

Thank you, Sen. Cotton.

I have to date seen him as the ultimate young pol on the GOPe puppet string—but perhaps there is more here?

There certainly IS a three-pronged approach:

https://www.whitehouse.gov/repeal-and-replace

Now that I’ve cleared that up for you, Senator, how about getting onboard? Or proposing something different?

As I read his comments, Cotton is being about as useful as Linda Graham or his pal, McLame.

Either LEAD, FOLLOW, OR GET THE HELL OUT OF THE WAY!!!

Cotton is right and I’d think Trump would appreciate this kind of common sense talk.

We were promised ACA repeal, not ACA amend.

Ryan keeps insisting amend is repeal, he makes himself a bigger liar every time he opens his mouth.

Tom Cotton: ‘There is no three-step plan’ to Obamacare repeal

I have to imagine getting people to swear off Obamacare is more like Alcohol Anonymous' 12-step plan.

One step plan. Just repeal it.

The Constitution doesn’t give the feds any authority to be meddling in that area anyway.

If ObamaCare is a “tax” (Roberts/SC) ..then why can’t congress remove the tax?

The GOP congress can defund it with a simple majority.

President Trump can remove all of homobama's EO exemptions with a simple EO.

Let the DC corruptocraps squirm under their own law. It will collapse quickly enough and even the demoncraps will vote to repeal it.

When the goal was changed from repeal to repeal and replace the game was lost. If you accept the premise that the Federal Government is responsible for providing universal health care insurance, any discussion remaining is only about "how much" and, as anyone who follows government knows, entitlements never decrease, they only grow. People were not without actual health care before Obama care and will not be left to die in the street if it is repealed. This has never been about health care. It is now and always has been about control and money.

Allowing purchase of healthcare policies across state lines
will be in step three and will require 60 votes for passage. What conceivable argument could there be against this provision? I can not think of any downside for the provision. It does not require a dime of taxpayer money and may lower cost. Worst that could happen is that it only minimally reduces premium cost. I personally think Republicans can beat Dems who vote against it over the head with it because a no vote cannot be justified other than the fact that Dems are willing to have their constituents suffer with higher costs just to deny Republicans a legislative victory

He's absolutely right. I can't entertain the thought, for even a moment, that this bill was actually intended to become law. It's a show for the base, nothing more.

They've been promising to "repeal and replace" for years, so now they have to be seen attempting to do that. But the last thing the Repub leadership in Congress wants is to "own" the health care reform debacle.
