Cops say the dispute was over the 71-year-old woman telling the other woman to the effect that she should "teach her (child) to wait for others to get off before you getting on the elevator."

NYPD describes the woman to be about 28 years old, 5 feet 6 inches tall, with dark complexion, braids. She was last seen wearing a green jacket, blue jeans, black sneakers, black hoodie, glasses and a tan bag.

Funny - we let all of our kids climb around and get dirty - my mother hated that. It was weird because on one hand she was “let them cry” when they were babies, and when they were toddlers my mom was always trying to get them not to play in the mud puddles or climb on the two-foot tall rock wall or play too hard with the dog. Yeah - I know we did some things wrong, but certain things you know what works for your kids.

This is the second story I’ve heard recently about people who brought trouble upon themselves by REacting, and trying to teach someone else about manners - (always a bad idea, even in the most civilized situations) - instead of ‘turning the other cheek’ and maintaining personal dignity.
The aura of Dignity always conveys a sense of reserve force, and stands one in good stead in many situations.
Sure the 71 year old was white? Haven’t seen that evidence yet.

It’s not just manners. If you let your kid get on the elevator before you, the elevator may depart WITH him and WITHOUT you.
On the manners topic, however, this mother — through her violence — is setting a terrible example for her kid. She’ll be lucky if she ever sees him again.

Bottom line is that people have a right to raise their children the way they see fit, regardless of whether you agree with it or not.
That must put them in a bind - to tell or not to tell. Either way we will know the perp shares Obama’s genetics.
