Fully implemented, the new aid program would cost around $1.6 billion per year, although proponents expect that price tag would come down...

LOL!

Where have I heard that before???

How about sending them to air conditioning or automobile repair schools instead?

Because that's what always happens with government programs, right?

Except that additional money in the pot will change eligibility for federal money...

Democrats doing what democrats do. Despite a huge deficit, the Calif Dems are adding another deficit adding program to their budget to provide another give-away program. If you ran your house budget like these idiot democrats, you’d be constantly declaring bankruptcy, in jail or living on the street. Yet, this is the Democrat mentality.

And since recent surveys have shown 1/3 of college students finance their spring breaks with financial aid money they can help sell this plan by pointing out it will be a economic boon for all the spring break hotspots.

“I love reading about CA. It make me feel better about living in NY :)”

If NY is such a veritable paradise, why are people moving out at such rapid rate?
The more that leave, the bigger your tax bill is going to have to be in order to support the Leftist Loons who run your state. At least, for the time being, California has a growing economy. Not so for NY. Your state lost about 70,000 people in 2016 while CA grew by nearly 300,000. If you live in a glass house, you shouldn’t be throwing rocks.

the average annual cost of college, which is around $21,000 at Cal State and $33,000 at UC.

And 2/3rds come out with Half the Education we got for FREE in the 60’s and 70’s in 10th Grade. But that Degree in Lesbian Dance Theory looks good on the Wall.

See, with other businesses, they force and demand them to lower their prices.

Not with their libtard education comrades. Who have been jacking up costs well above regular inflation in all other areas of life.

What a g-d commie union racket. The kickbacks must be sweet.
