Former President Barack Obama popped into Omaha to dine on taco salad with Warren and Susie Buffett at Happy Hollow Club on Sunday. Yes, Warren Buffett picked up the tab.
The lunch lasted about two and a half hours and was Obama’s only stop while in Omaha. Unlike previous visits, Sunday’s was a low-key affair. Seated with Obama in a private room at the country club, the Buffetts had Thunderbird salads. Warren Buffett is a member of Happy Hollow.
Susie Buffett declined to comment on the purpose of the get-together, other to say it was not a fundraiser. “I’m not going to talk about the meeting...,” she said. “The three of us ate lunch.”
Buffett and Obama have a longstanding relationship that has included campaign support, economic policy advice and visits between the White House and Omaha. In 2011, Obama awarded Buffett the nation’s highest civilian honor, the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
Sunday’s quiet visit involved no press corps, no protesters and no hordes of supporters waving “welcome to Obamaha” signs.
That’s in stark contrast to then-President Obama’s last trip to Omaha in January 2016. Days after he delivered his final State of the Union address, Obama spoke at the University of Nebraska at Omaha’s Baxter Arena to a crowd estimated at 11,000. He also went to the home of a Papillion teacher.

What he has done to harm this country and the world is incalculable. The clown struts around like he is a rock star even though he always has been a total affirmative action failure in life and has zero legacy of value. We will never forget Benghazi and Extortion 17 nor Fast and Furious among other felonies. His Iran “deal” has the potential to murder millions of Americans or wipe Israel off the planet. That is not the American way to let this piece of sh*t walk around jet setting and undermining our country with his sycophants. Obama and his ilk at the very least belong in prison and destitute. In another generation long forgotten,the treasonous liberal scum of America would be decorating lampposts and fertilizing our soil. So no, it is not us who think he lives in our heads. We think he and the other enemies of the republic are a disease that infects our country.
There was that Hillary speech—”monkey and dart board”—during which he described the Trump business acumen. Some of those attending in the choir looked uncomfortable for an instant, including Hillary.
