Sen. John McCain said Sunday that President Donald Trump should either retract or substantiate his claim that President Barack Obama wire-tapped him in the final weeks of the presidential campaign and added he expects more to come on Russia's meddling in the US election.
============================================
The Obama wire-tapping gang still has to face the music.
(JIM0216 hat tip)......the issue isn't whether Trump was wiretapped (Obama admitted such and apparently, there was a FISA warrant issued for the wiretapping). The issue is whether there was probable cause to issue a warrant. Probable cause is defined as the reasonable likelihood that a crime is or has been committed by the person or at the place designated........
===============================================
(REAGANGENERATION2 HAT TIP)---Trump should be able to review all 2 or 3 FISA requests (if he hasnt already), and then let Congress determine if the requesters lied about the probable cause justifying them......then (1) youd prove perjury, and, even worse, (2) the intent was to abuse executive power.
===========================================
A good beginning....and then it gets downright lethal for the Obama gang:
Via Breitbart, JOHN HAYWARD observed that the FISA court may have approved a warrant submitted without Trumps name but which Obama then misused to spy on Trump and many connected to Trump.
Ergo the most serious legal jeopardy that might be faced would be (a) perjury for lying to the FISA court, and, (b) the dissemination of collected intelligence that should have been kept tightly classified.
===========================================
It is also entirely possible that Obama and his legal team may have perjured themselves before the FISA court by willfully withholding material information in order to manipulate the FISA courts willingness to permit the government surveillance.
FALSIFYING GOVT DOCUMENTS would fall under the Crimes Act of 1958. Moreover, falsifying official documents is the criminal MO to hide larger crimes.
EXCERPT A person falsifying documents can be held criminally liable if they are deliberately acting with the intention of deceiving or defrauding another party.
Falsifying documents is a very serious offense and is generally classified as a felony. This means that a person charged with falsifying documents may be subject to the following legal penalties:
◾Having to pay a monetary fine
◾Incarceration in a prison facility
Depending on the gravity of the offense, as well as individual state laws, falsifying documents can result in a prison sentence of 5-10 years.
And if official government documents or govt authorities were involved, the legal penalties may be more severe. Legal penalties may increase with repeat offenses.
Many different types of acts can be considered as falsifying a document, including:
◾Altering or misrepresenting fact-based information
◾Stating false information when requested to provide truthful statements
◾Forging a signature
◾Using official letterheads without authorization
◾Knowingly using or distributing a fake document
The penalty for falsifying government documents is outlined in the Crimes Act of 1958.
Political party people should start paying attention to what the citizens are thinking rather than trying to muscle in their nomination.
It’s worth noting that senility appears to be age-independent.
McCain is not senile. I watched him closely 4 years ago, and he was very sharp. I hope I am as spry when I am his age.
I have fought pretty hard to get a replacement in the Senate, but he has the support of the Establishment media and lots of money.
He may be very wrong, but he is not stupid or senile.
Too bad he wasn’t this vocal against Obama.
Pray America woke
Much truth to your statement. Similar too with Romney.
We were in a slow free fall towards doom ever since the 1st Bush. In a sick sense, obama was good for America in that he quickened our descent towards the end which caused many to wake up. As a result, we have Trump, and the opportunity to set things straight. Just hope it all works out.
Go away McCain, please.
I like Dan Bongino’s take: “Has anyone considered that the Secret Service might have done an “Electronic Counter Measures” (ECM) sweep in the office spaces of Trump Tower while Trump was a candidate and as he assumed office of POTUS?”
I believe the Secret Service and President Trump have “the goods” on the perps, IMHO.
I never saw a guy burn his bridges from so many directions. What a consummate elitist beltway ass. He was not elected president and who is he to tell anyone anything?
May be he is smart but McCain outsmarts himself. He believes he is bigger and badder than he is. He is digging a hole out of which he will not be able to extract himself.
When the support drops out for McCain it’s gonna be fast and complete.
McCainiac.STFU.AZZHAT
I sure hope so. He has become an embarassment to Arizona and a danger to the Republic.
About 20 years ago.
When I arrive at the headstone my bladder will be full,when I leave a minute or two later it will be empty.
If I outlive Obola (which seems unlikely) I will do the same at his grave site.
Does anyone recall a similar call for evidence when the NYT reported that Trump was wiretapped? Or did he give any criticism to the NYT actually taking the words “wiretapped” out of their headline retroactively after Trump’s tweet?
That old SOB just can’t get past Trump’s war hero comments.
In Arizona it was supposed that McCain chose to run again because he wanted to keep the seat warm for his daughter. However, she is such a ditz she has no chance; meanwhile we are stuck with the most ill-tempered, untrustworthy member of the Senate. So how did it happen? Veterans voted for him overwhelmingly, and as anyone who has served in the military knows, the services are filled with morons. And I’m afraid they all ended up in Arizona.
traitor and a fraud
McCain, so cowardly against obama, who hated him, is a tough talking hombre against members of his own team, who mainly share his interests.
