Burgers are good. Melted cheese is also good

Put the two together, and we’re not going to be too disappointed.

If, like us, you strongly agree with the concept of an extremely cheesy burger, it’s probably worth getting down to Maxwell’s restaurant in Covent Garden, stat.

Never tried the malt vinegar. I only eat my fish with lemon, but I didn’t know they put the vinegar on the potatoes. (It’s pretty hard to ruin a potato, though. They’re good almost any way they’re prepared.)

So I can hold the burger.

There is a bar/restaurant near me that if famous for its corn beef sandwiches. they are absolutely huge and hard to eat because of it. In my opinion, quality trumps quantity every time and while the sandwiches are really good, the quantity is actually gross.........

Hubby must be British then. He eats everything with a knife and fork. Always has.

That's like some eateries in NY and NJ that have sandwiches that are almost a foot tall! LOL. I mean, what's the point? How do you call that a sandwich?

Texas? Does that mean it’s chicken-fried ravioli?

“Malt vinegar for the fries”

I get them that way when I’m in Canada. I also like chicken gravy on my fries or on hash browns with a chicken-fried steak. Peanut butter and bananas on white bread or peanut butter and cheese on toast (especially homemade bread). Good stuff!

She committed a far worse breach of etiquette than the one she was on her high horse about, in attempting to embarrass someone else over use of silverware. Newbies and strivers always forget that or never knew in the first place.

Some people just don’t like to get food on their hands. If I’m eating bbq, it makes such a mess, I end up using my knife and fork, but it tastes different, somehow. Fried chicken is the same way. My brain doesn’t like it when my food’s changed around. The sensory part overrides the rational part.

Yes, she does keep up a certain image. Even when she was a kid, she spoke differently, acted like a royal or something. She’s not an actress, but she’s built up an entire public persona, and pretty much in private, too. Maybe she is an actress. She’s kind of Holly Golightly, without the whoring.

Pretty crappy meat to bun ratio if you ask me. Most places just don’t get it.

Certainly looks messy. I guess you have to eat it with a knife & fork. Otherwise a couple of hand fulls of napkins would be needed in between bites, which would also become messy quickly as well. Now lift the bun top and pour away. Still mesyy but not as bad!!

I’ve never tried their burgers but there is a Juicy Lucy in New Orleans. A friend/coworker from Chicago loved them.

“faux pas of cutting into his fish with the side of his fork”

As Troy said to Eve :
“good manners are just a way of showing other people we have respect for them. See, I didn’t know that, I thought it was just a way of acting all superior. “

You are spot on Mrs Flaming Conservative-
I would cut the fish with my fork too, just for support.

BTW-
REALLY gross buger.
Partial to Med Rare, toasted onion roll, sharp cheddar.
And gotta have a Half Sour, maybe Dr Brown’s too?
