Preet Bharara says he was fired "moments ago." He reiterated that he did not resign his post as Manhattan's federal prosecutor.

"I did not resign," Bharara said in a tweet. "Moments ago I was fired. Being the US Attorney in SDNY will forever be the greatest honor of my professional life."

Right, he spent 18 months running two investigations, one on Cuomo and one on DeBlasio so he could fool Trump when Trump had not even announced his candidacy when the investigations were begun. That statement is dumber than a bag of rocks.

Any attachment to Schumer is worthy of a firing.

Yeah, if anyone needed the final push to indict NY criminals, it would be DJT winning the election. Been four months and nada.

I wonder if he thought he would be hired back when he left the office last night, then got a call after all his stuff got packed and work-in-progress looked at early this AM.

And he would win said election if he didn’t have taking down HRC as an albatross - to NY voters - around his neck.

he prosecuted Dinesh D. Souza the Obama critic and asked for two years prison time

That's important information that shows he was playing politics with his office. I connected that to another thought. The wiretapping of Trump Tower was in his jurisdiction. Would he have known it was going on, perhaps even had to okay it? At the very least, should he have informed President Trump about it Inauguration Day?

Christie is one step from federal indictment in Jersey. He is also buds with Cuomo and would be as likely to indict him as I am likely to throw a party for Barky. As for the amount of time in the investigation indicating that nothing would happen, ask Skelos and Silver about that.

Wouldn’t that be a step down for a sitting governor?

I also can’t see New Yorkers liking an import from the state they love to look down on.

His investigations have taken too long with no results.

Any counsel to Schumer is POLITICAL?

Openly defying boss’s request deserves to be FIRED!

This guy was also a lead guy in the DOJ’s shakedown of mortgage banks which built up the DOJ’s huge slush fund which has been funding protest groups.

He was a loyal democrat. He was defiant of his bosses legal and legitimate request.

“you’re fired!”

Also clever. Let a Republican US Attorney take down Hillary and DeBlasio and nail their scalps to the wall. Preet gets to run for mayor as a “good government Democrat” and a martyr with the slogan, “I told you so.”

It’s very simple.

His services were no longer desired.

His employers have chosen to go in a different direction.

I find it quite telling that HRC, Schumer, deBlasio, etc. aren’t shrieking out their windows about this. Maybe there are flights to Bahrain to be booked.

They were in violation of the law. His job was not to enforce only the laws approved by the posters on Free Republic.

This guy could have part of the cabal spying on Trump.

This guy was also the main guy on the Clinton Foundation investigation... which seemed to go nowhere. He was the black hole where you send investigations into if you don’t want them to ever see the light of day.

“It almost sounds like theater.”

That’s what I’m wondering. He’d be more valuable as governor.

He produced no fruit on the fertile grounds of the Clinton Foundation. Sends a good message to other AG’s to get with the program.
