Preet Bharara says he was fired "moments ago." He reiterated that he did not resign his post as Manhattan's federal prosecutor.
"I did not resign," Bharara said in a tweet. "Moments ago I was fired. Being the US Attorney in SDNY will forever be the greatest honor of my professional life."

Are you sure about that? Because he’s also the main driver behind Weiner’s laptop that went a long ways towards bringing the Clinton campaign to a halt.

Anyone associated even remotely with Obama should be fired. Further, anybody from India should be fired. There are plenty of good Americans who can take these jobs and enforce American laws. We don’t need the Indian mafia here filling American jobs with Indians.
The assumption was all would put their letters of resignation in and some would be accepted/rejected. When you’re “bigger” than the Donald, you get cut down to size. Lesson for lots of gubmint, “entitled” employees.

I don’t see why anything needs to change with respect to the prosecution of these crooks. The new guy just has to be of the same mindset as Preet was. It’s the stuff that he wasn’t doing that was probably the reason Sessions removed him. After all, the bottom line with him is he’s a RAT appointee. I’m going with Trump and Sessions here.
You are correct. Neither Sessions or Pres. Trump have any reason to go wasy on DeB or Andy. But now any action the new USA takes will be viewed as partisan, With Bharara, his investigations were clearly non partisan and aimed at wrong doing. This decision is just wrong and considering that Bharara came down the elevator in Trump Tower and said the Pres elect had asked him to stay on, it is incomprehensible.
It seems unlikely that he will be rehired. He was asked to resign. He refused and was fired.
These guys have been around for quite some time... maybe this Bharra guy has been the reason they have NOT been charged with anything.

Its a little ironic that before Obama’s term this guy was involved in investigating GWB for firing US attorneys.... then Obama fires US attorneys and hires this guy.

Clever. Trump and Sessions let him turn himself into a martyr so as to give him a leg up on DeBlasio and Hillary in this fall's mayoral election. If so, a fine chess move.
I wouldn't be shocked if Chris Christie ends up in that post.
