THE HAGUE, Netherlands The Latest on Dutch barring Turkish foreign minister (all times local):
5:10 p.m.
Turkeys foreign minister says that the Dutch decision to deny his plane landing permission for him to enter the Netherlands is a scandal in every way and cannot be accepted.
Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu was due to visit Rotterdam on Saturday to campaign for a referendum next month on constitutional reforms in Turkey. The Dutch government says that it withdrew the permission because of risks to public order and security.
Cavusoglu, speaking at Istanbuls airport, said that the Dutch are trying to prevent Turkish officials from meeting voters in Europe.
He said: So they cancelled it due to security concerns, what, so is the minister a terrorist?
The minister added: We will give them the response they deserve.

What is going on when a foreign minister comes into a country to campaign? If the people want to vote in the Turkish elections they need to move to Turkey.
The Mexicans do the same thing here. I think ICE needs to attend those meetings and just round them up
“If the people want to vote in the Turkish elections they need to move to Turkey.”
Most of the employees of the Israeli company I worked for had dual citizenship. They voted in American elections and, every one I talked to, was a left of left Democrat.
We should never allow duel citizenship. I think if you maintain a citizenship in another country that is your choice, but then you should relinquish your American citizenship
Hi -
not to blow my own horn: I posted on this topic earlier today, in my thread: Proud To Be Dutch.
It sank fast, but can be found, of course - or could anyone post a direct link or suchlike (I am new here)?
Latest news: the row is escalating. Since Onkel Erdolf H. accused Holland of being Nazi-remnants, the temperature has been rising. Dutch Mayors have selected some areas for demonstrations.
Meanwhile, believe it or not: the Turkish Secretary for Family Matters, ms. Sayan Kaya, is approaching Holland by car from Germany, as I write this. She plans to deliver a speech somewhere in Holland, though I don’t think she’ll get a location.
There may be riots coming up. Let’s hope that won’t happen.
“There may be riots coming up. Lets hope that wont happen.”
Normally I would agree, but I think Holland needs to see what it’s future holds due to its Muslim population. Riots would do that.
I see your point, Vladimir -
any sane person would oppose riots. But on the other hand, I guess many of my countrymen aren’t really aware of what is going on, they aren’t sensitive to ‘undercurrents’.
As I see it now, Erdogan is profiting big time from some kind of network he and his fellow gangsters must have been rolling out for years. The Turkish internet communities are very secretive, that is sure.
Let me finish with a gag: on a German (and serious) site, someone proposed to let Turkish governing politicians just have their say, in the name of freedom of speech; and to simultaneous invite Turkish opposition leaders, scientists, and law-related folks to Holland and Germany, to explain their own view on all these matters.
Then a journalist replied to this proposal with a wry: “Excellent idea! Thing is: the complete second group of commentators you mention is in jail, your know?”
Yes, a gag. A good gag, and a very serious one. It tells us why we must refuse these Turkish ‘leaders’ to advertise their tyranny in our country - if we don’t, we’ll simply be an accomplice to the founding of a dangerous and totalitarian state.
Well... that should settle the matter, right?
Now we can expect immediate surrender by all Dutch to their local imams, indeed, the charge is so serious Dutch won't even bother to deny it, instead they'll deny they are really Dutch, and turn their country over to their accusers, right?
After all, how can one ever be a "global citizen" with such an accusation hanging out there?
</sarcasm>
Yes. I humbly agree.
Two rules:
(1) Uncle Erdogan is always right;
(2) Should anyone doubt about the justness and rightfulness and sincerity and God-given wisdom of the sayings and teachings of Uncle Erdolf, then he or she is automatically referred back to rule (1).
We Dutch must thus kneel at the altar of Uncle Erdolf, and shed those now obsolete ideas about globalism, total tolerance, and democracy itself.
On closer inspection, it is not such a joyous day as I previously thought.
Geert just tweeted that the Turkish police are on their way to detain Dutch diplomats based in Ankara. This could get ugly.
Ik hoop dat Geert wint de verkiezingen van woensdag. Hij is mijn held.
Terrorist, moslum....same thing.
