Thanks - I’m knowledgable on the Tunguska event. And I keep up on the “near misses” (shouldn’t it be “near hits?”).
We have been lucky or, as is my wont to think, “blessed”.
Then there’s also the Yellowstone super-volcano that could decide to vent. We could get finished off from above or from below.
That’s if we aren’t crippled by a massive solar ejection beforehand!

Sure, but some believe that pre-clovis people developed points that clovis peoples copied.
It would be logical that there were multiple different migrantions into the Americas, and each group developing tools to fit their needs. Often, copying tools they encountered along the way.

We could get finished off from above or from below. The greatest threats to human civilization now are islam and communism.

That falls under “lateral destruction”.

Yes, I agree. We are blessed.
I have been thinking lately that it was a mistake for
for the Armstrong to say in 1969, “One small step for man. One giant step for mankind.” He should have given the credit to God. Why? Well see Genesis 11:1-9

"Catastrophes happen but sometimes catastrophism is just an excuse for lazy science. After generations of denying that catastrophes effect the development of life on earth some scientists are becoming a little too quick to resort to the a giant meteor did it hypothesis. This claim needs more evidence."

A surprising number of the NE Indian tribes have a large amount of R1B and I1A DNA, people blame it on the Frogs, I have my doubts.

According to what I’ve been reading online, even the DNA-archeologists can’t agree. It would seem there’s more than one genetic source in the trail, as best as I can gather. Interesting area.

I need to read Wood's book. Another book on the same subject is
The Year without Summer: 1816 by William K. Klingaman and Nicholas P. Klingaman (a father-and-son team).
Tens of thousands of people died in Europe from starvation as a result of Tambora; I believe that two of my ancestors who died in 1817 were among the victims.

Yup.
Somewhere a bit southwest of Lake Superior, coming in from the NW.
It would totally explain the Carolina Bays.
PLUS, it would wipe out those pesky North American rhinos at the same time!
