“the voters turned out B-1 Bob”
Respectfully, B-1 Bob was practically a Virginian, by the time he was defeated. My office moved into the same building as his, in Garden Grove. Very excitedly, I went there to ask when he might make an appearance . . .one employee said she had worked there for a year, and had never laid eyes on him.
Bob was busy chasing the presidential nod in New Hampshire, that year, on a woefully underfunded campaign, presuming that he had it made, back in OC.
Brixey (Sanchez) ran a smart campaign, as well as, in my opinion, benefited from shenanigans at the polls, but Rep. Dornan defeated himself.
Thank you.
You’d know better than I would. I’m not a Californian although I did live in Orange County for a year or so back in the ‘80s. I used to listen to Bob talk on C-Span and liked what he had to say. He struck me as a pretty intelligent guy and I always liked the way he could make his speech go right to the second his time expired. Too bad things turned out as they did.
Is Orange County still mostly conservative? I liked to read the Register every day - probably the best (and only) decent paper on the West Coast.
