Mark Levin is being disingenous at best. I listened to what he said on the radio and it was clear he was pointing to the fact of pre-existing conditions. He said that it’s immoral for someone to never have paid insurance to suddenly be able to hop on a plan and be covered for said condition. I agree with that statement. Where he is clearly missing the point of it is when someone had a condition and was covered by a medical policy let’s say through an employer, it then became impossible to change jobs. Not only that but if you were laid off, or worse fired, then you could not get insurance at all because you now had a pre-existing condition. Could his scenario play out? Sure. Is is possible people could see this loophole and try and take advantage of it? Sure. But to state that policy is immoral makes Levin look like a heartless bastard.
He gave a detailed monologue in which he told us what was wrong with the ENTIRE bill. Pre-existing conditions are just part of it.
That was my case. I had health insurance, then my employer canceled it.
I have a pre-existing condition which meant no insurance companies would sell me insurance....no matter what I did, no matter which company I went to, I could not buy health insurance.
That, to me, is immoral. There should be a way for people to be able to receive health insurance.
Policy is way over my head, but I hope we somehow come up with a decent bill.
