“By repealing taxes, rolling back regulations and mandates, and restoring control back to the states, our plan unleashes innovation and competition in the health care.”

That’s kind of vague, but I appreciate the link. Putting control back in some states like CA may not be so great for those states. Seems like something that precludes the state from preventing out of state exchanges/companies from competing would be in order. Maybe its in there somewhere.

How about voiding every F-*&^n exemption from Obamacare and force every gov. employee into the same boat as the regular people.

Well, I am half way through it and have seen about enough.

The penalty to “Encourage Continuous Health Insurance Coverage” under Sec. 2711 is 30% of the applicable monthly premium.

The mandate is still in effect. This is a damn embarrassment and any Republican that backs this should be ashamed.

No, it's not the sort of thing they release without a dog and pony show first unless they're trying to alter the focus of the news shows at the moment.

Watch, the media will all rush over to beating up on this bill and try to ignore the fact that they all have already said there were wiretaps of the Trump campaign and are now floundering around trying to deny their own reporting.

No one is going to have anything to say about whatever proof of taps Trump puts forward because they'll all say it's time to "move on" and work on saving Obamacare.

This coming out now is like throwing a lot of life preservers to people busy drowning in their own puke, Barry among them. Any Republican not interested in saving the Uniparty would have waited at least until next week.

Horsetrading started several weeks ago. That's what staffs do, they work in advance of something going from the House and the Senate to make sure only those things someone wants face time being for or against are left to argue over and horse-trade.

80 to 90% of the horsetrading is done before the final bill is ever printed.

There is not any such provision. See page 62/63.

It doesn’t repeal - it just modifies.

I copy and paste a sample . . .
(2) in subsection (z)(2)—22(A) in subparagraph (A), by striking 23‘‘medical assistance for individuals’’ and all that 24follows through ‘‘shall be’’ and insert in

As a follow up, I would bet the market reaction to this bill would be a pretty good indicator of how “good” it is as well.

So the summary is false when it says the bill will “Eliminate the individual and employer mandate penalties”? Or is that supposed to mean that it repeals the ACA penalties and replaces it with PAPHP penalties?

I voted for Trump.

I didn’t vote in the congressional election. After reading the highlights of Obamacare-Light, I know I made the right decision.

If it passes, veto it.Hold out for complete repeal and NO replacement. Let it all return to status quo ante then work on eliminating federal control of medicine and insurance altogether.

After reading further it appears the INDIVIDUAL MANDATE IS REPEALED on p. 83/84.

Need to read further and reconcile with earlier provisions.

I hope they are doing away with the mandate that everyone pay for coverage for things they don’t want, need or ever will need.
