Rachel Dolezal, the infamous white woman who for years passed herself off as African American and rose to become head of an NAACP branch, is now jobless, on food stamps and expects to soon be homeless.
A defiant Dolezal, 39, recounted her current plight to The Guardian. Dolezal said she’s only been offered jobs in reality television and porno flicks. A friend helped her come up with the money for February’s rent and she doesn’t know how she’s going to pay for March.
And she still says she’s not white.
“I do think a more complex label would be helpful, but we don’t really have that vocabulary,” Dolezal told The Guardian. “I feel like the idea of being trans-black would be much more accurate than ‘I’m white.’ Because, you know, I’m not white . . . Calling myself black feels more accurate than saying I’m white.”

Since then I've read another article that explains that Rachel has since renamed herself.
She now has an official black woman name that ends in an "a". I can't pronounce it so it's gotta be legit.
She wants to be trans-black, but if a conservative eats a taco or uses chopsticks that’s cultural appropriation. Why do we let them have it both ways?

However, her parents have her dressed like Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm. To my eyes she looks nice: plain, but sweet and wholesome, and dressed modestly. But I imagine her high school classmates viewed her through a lens different from my old eyes.
Adolescence can be tough on girls, and sending a girl off to high school in the 1990s, but dressed like 1903, probably made it hard on her. It couldn't have helped her disturbed mind. She looks as far removed from the world of hip-hop as Shirley Temple.

Someone needs to pitch the concept of this person locked up in a house with the 13 year old “Cash Me Ousside” Danielle Bregoli. That would be quite a pairing for a survivor-type “non-reality” series...

The duplicity in her actions is absolutely appalling.
I agree but that doesn’t excuse her from passing herself off as black.
She could have simply changed her wardrobe instead of capitalizing on equal rights and discrimination against blacks who are really black.
