Trump Does Not Accept Comey's Wiretap Denial: White House
Zero Hedge ^ | 03/06/17 | Tyler Durden

Having thrown the Justice Department under the bus yesterday, it appears the FBI Director has not managed to pass the hot potato of blame/responsibility for Trump's wiretap accusations. As The Hill reports, a White House spokeswoman on Monday said she "doesn't think" Trump accepts Comey's denial of the president's claims.

As a reminder, a New York Times report Sunday said  Comey asked the Justice Department to publicly reject the president's claims. Senior U.S. officials told the Times that Comey has said the president's wiretapping allegations are false and asked the Justice Department on Saturday to publicly correct the record. The FBI and DOJ declined to comment to the newspaper.

But, as The Hill reports, it appears President Trump is not buying Comey's denial that former President Obama wiretapped Trump Tower during the campaign.

"No, I don't think he does," Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Monday on ABC's "Good Morning America."

And THAT denial from Comey just amplifies the question as to why Trump kept that creep on at FBI.

Comey is trying to protect the FBI. In doing so he is forcing the DOJ to report what it has from other sources on the wire or e-mail taps employed against the Trump campaign. To begin with, go back to the “retirement” of NSA director Alexander in 2014 and then follow the changes that resulted from the Snowden leak. The NSA, always considered the White Knight of the intelligence community, has under Obama been completely polluted. Maybe that’s about to change.

“My lingering question is why wasn’t Comey gone on day one?”

Comey is appointed to a 10 year term! He cannot be summarily dismissed!

Its my understanding that Comey has NOT said anything, but fakey news is reporting that an “unnamed source” is saying Comey is saying this.

Comey was appointed to a 10 year term. He serves at the leisure of the President and can be fired at any time.

It boggles my mind Comey is still around.

By keeping him in place, the left wonders what is going on and turns on him. He eventually comes to you to save his life. All those detective stories on tv and you have learned nothing?

No quote from Comey. No quote from Trump. No quote from Sessions. No public statement from the FBI or Justice. Just “sources” cited by the NY Times. Which means it’s all a bunch of BS.

Correct. Not one source.

I’d rather have a US patriot in that position.

Comey should be sitting at the investigation table... but as a perp.

This is called a “controlled burn”.

Trump is in charge.

Nothing any underling does can effect him. They would have taken him down befor the election, IF THEY COULD HAVE.

He knows 95% of all the rats that Barry left behind and he is just letting them scurry around making as much noise as they can while they self identify.

Trump’s mad about the wire tap!! - Trump has known about it at least since January, probly before, seeing how his people have been being asked questions gleaned from the bugging since before the election.

Let the crooks do their crooked things until you have prosecutable proof - then sip your coffee as they roll over and give you bigger and bigger and BIGGER fish.

Technically the President can fire an FBI Director but unless there is a valid and compelling reason, it's considered poor form. I think you are correct in saying that he cannot be "summarily dismissed". The last FBI director to be fired was in 1993.

It is my thought that Trump wants to keep Comey and has reasons for doing so that might make sense to us later once more facts are publicly released.

I trust that Trump will remove Comey if in fact he truly cannot be trusted to carry out his duties in an ethical manner.

There is still very much a "fog of war" around Washington right now. There is a lot going on behind the scenes that we are not privy to. For now, I'm giving President Trump the benefit of the doubt on his personnel decisions.

I has been my belief all along that Trump should have ousted Comey on day one.

If the Trump administration flounders it will be because of oversights such as your suggestion.

Simply put.. they can only sink themselves.

This could be a trump “rope a dope” Comey is denying the FBI had anything to do with the tapes and says the DOJ should issue a denial, the DOJ has not. Don’t be surprised if crooks Lynch and Holder were behind the scheme.

Spokesperson doesn't think Trump accepts Comey’s denial, but no quote from or by Trump.

The Trump administration issued a public statement yesterday calling on Congress to investigate the matter. In this statement, they also said they would have no further comment on the issue while the investigation is (apparently) ongoing. This seemed a little odd to me at the time, because I couldn't imagine why someone like Trump would ever want to remain silent about a story that was just starting to get a lot of media attention.

Now it all makes sense to me ...

Donald Trump wants his last public statement on the matter to be a series of Twitter messages in which he openly accuses Barack Obama of conducting potentially illegal surveillance on him.

That right there, folks, is Donald Trump writing the script for Barack Obama's legacy ... in 140 characters or less. Trump just b!tch-slapped Obama as if he was nothing more than a failed contestant on "The Apprentice." LMAO.

The FBI is in the Domestic spying business.

As well as counterintelligence.

The FBI has been responsible for identifying and neutralizing ongoing national security threats from foreign intelligence services since 1917

Comey seems to play both sides against the middle. He did Trump good by re-opening Hillary’s email dispute the week prior to the election, and I assumed Trump kept him on because he was a font of knowledge on dirty deals that went on during the Obummer admin. But now he does a volte face about Trump not being wire tapped...can’t understand it, unless Comey found out he was being conned by Trump???
