Hundreds of students rioted at Middlebury College in Vermont this week, preventing a respected libertarian scholar from speaking and leaving one female professor in a neck brace.

Charles Murray was invited by the American Enterprise Institute Club on campus to discuss his book, “Coming Apart,” which chronicles the struggles facing the white working class in the United States. However, a mob first protested and later assaulted both Murray and Professor Allison Stanger.

Dig this:
Yale president Kingman Brewster Jr. ’41, once said: “Universities should be safe havens where ruthless examination of realities will not be distorted by the aim to please or inhibited by the risk of displeasure.” But Brewster also said, “Never let disagreement fester into disrespect.”

Why would the left riot against a Libertarian?

The left is interesting in legislating a lot more than libertarians are.

You know they are crazy when they say Middlebury is not liberal enough for them. Yikes.

I think because the left’s objective is to enslave the people, or at least the bottom 99%.

A libertarian, on the other hand, by definition has freedom and self-determination as major tenants.

Neither one is interested in morality. Just the end game.

I could be wrong, but that’s how I see the answer to your question.

Major tenants are always good, they help pay the bills.

It is time to close Middlebury College in Vermont and send all the students home. There is no need to teach lawless violence or community disrupting except at a school for lower learning.

Scratch a leftist and you'll find a fascist.

You might want to look into the matter further, it appears that your understanding might be a little off base. There's a reason that Libertarians most often end up voting for Republicans. They have more common ground there, than with the totalitarian left.

He co-authored The Bell Curve, so, of course, he is a vile racist. Anything he may say is hate speech.

Oh gee, yet another small group of leftist protestors crying and breaking things. If these morons think this BS is going to hold the interest or gain sympathy of the American people, they're very mistaken. They better ramp it up to burning cities. Otherwise their rating will continue to drop.☺

What are these malcontents to be called?

American Anarchist Marxist Party?

And why have members of the DNC thrown in with this group?

This is not constitutionalistic. At what point does the tension reach an apex and the criminality of these rioters checked...by whatever means is necessary. Academia stands by and cheers them on. High ranking members of the DNC and prior administration fellows applaud bad behaviour. Is America in keeping with these poor moral standards? It is all very bazaar.

I can only conclude that media is amplifying the extent and the numbers involved. We in the bleachers are witness to an attempt to socially construct a type of revolution. I can only hope that repercussions are NOT just merely to wait until this foolishness disapates.

Conservatives must face the fact that a group of “Bully Boys” are needed to break up the paid protesters. It is sad to say but we are in the early stages of the coming Social War and we need to protect our own people. Skulls and teeth must be smashed. These leftist’s are not joking they mean to have a total mind control, absolute power and a total distribution of American wealth.

Well the topic was working white men and why they are struggling. That was enough to anger the intolerant crowd.
