Town Hall Agitators Explode at the Name of Jesus
the Patriot Post ^ | 03/01/17 | Todd Starnes

A group of enraged protesters exploded in anger after a chaplain prayed in the name of Jesus at a town hall meeting in Louisiana hosted by U.S. Sen. Bill Cassidy.

The verbally abusive crowd also heckled a Vietnam War veteran who attempted to lead the group in the pledge of allegiance.

It was one of the most heinous acts of un-American, anti-Christian behavior I’ve ever seen, folks.

Louisiana State chaplain Michael Sprague and the unidentified Vietnam War veteran should be commended for maintaining their composure in the face of such verbal barbarism.

The Feb. 22 town hall meeting in Metairie was quickly overrun by the angry mob — much like other town hall meetings hosted by Republican lawmakers across the country.

The mainstream media would have us believe the unruly demonstrations are part of an organic, grassroots effort.

But I sincerely doubt many in the mob were actually residents of Louisiana — because I know the good people of Louisiana, and nobody behaves like that in the Bayou State.

Folks are raised right in Cajun Country. There’s no way anybody would embarrass their mommas by acting the fool in public.

I’d be willing to bet a cup of Community Coffee that the Jesus-hating rabble-rousers were shipped in from some God-forsaken place like Berkeley or Brooklyn.

Chaplain Sprague had barely invoked the name of the Almighty when the heckling began.

“Pray on your own time. This is our time,” someone shouted. “Amen. Let’s get on with it.”

Others chanted “Separation of church and state” and so on and so forth. Someone filmed the prayer and words do not do justice to the amount of hate directed at the chaplain.

“I’ve never been shouted down throughout a time of prayer like that,” Chaplain Sprague told me. “I’ve never been in a situation like that. It’s sad there wasn’t honor and respect for God.”

But they became absolutely unhinged when he concluded his prayer in the name of Jesus.

“Wow, they booed the name of Jesus,” Cassidy said in remarks reported by the Times-Picayune.

I thought several of the agitators were going to spontaneously combust.

The chaplain said the overwhelming majority of people in the room were causing a disruption, but he harbors no ill will toward the mob.

“I’m not mad at people. My heart is bigger than that,” he said. “My heart’s prayer is that everybody be treated with dignity and respect.”

The chaplain was especially disappointed by how the mob insulted the Vietnam War veteran.

“There was a lot of shouting. Some turned their backs. Many didn’t stand or put their hand on their heart,” he said.

Infuriating, but not surprising

Liberals have a strong aversion to President Trump, Jesus and Old Glory.

But I still have hope in America.

Is it possible that liberals will one day pledge allegiance to the flag instead of burn the flag? Is it possible that liberals will one day revere the name of Jesus? Is it possible that liberals will one day respect President Trump?

I am hopeful, but to be honest, it would take a miracle of biblical proportions.

I have lived in three different states and was always issued a Voter ID card which named my congressional and state legislative districts as well as voting precinct. It proves that you are registered. The cards are reissued for each election. Why is it so difficult to require showing a voter ID card when attending these town halls? It ensures that the folks in that district are able to interact with their elected representative and it cuts down on all this nonsense.

You should be required to show the ID card when you vote too, but that's another matter.

Soros financed socialist-democrat rent-a-mob strikes again.

These people are not “constituents”. They are paid professional agitator goons.

The right to assemble may give them protection at a town hall meeting, but it doesn’t preclude them from an old fashioned ass kicking by the actual real constituents.

Freedom of speech is no protection from engaging in coercion and intimidation tactics.

I have no idea where my voter registration card is. :-) All they have to do is check the name on a driver's license against voter rolls.

And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon ["Destroyer"] Rev 9:11.

Yes, but to do that would require printing out voter rolls and having people to check everyone in. Just show the voter ID card. If it says “AZ LD 5” or whatever, then they get in. If not, then they should get back on the Soros bus and go to hell.

Dems have truly turned themselves into the anti-American party: witness the behavior of Congressional Dems at President Trump’s SOTU speech last night.

Chris Plante did a brilliant opening segment on 2/27 about these creeps, available on his WMAL podcasts.

Back in the day when there was no such thing as a photo ID, we were required in my state to have our voter registration card in order to vote. That was when the Dems had control of both legislative bodies and the governorship.

At least now they require a government issued photo ID. You no longer have to have the registration card with you. I always carry mine.

Remember when all males had to carry a Draft Registration Card? Funny how no man would be caught dead without it. Now the Dems don’t want to require a photo ID to vote, yet they were in control of national politics when the Draft Card laws were in effect.

The real problem is that Socialist have taken over the old Dem party and want control of the nation, in order to destroy our Republic.

Isn’t that what is supposed to happen when those under the sway of Satan hear Jesus’ name?

It's past time for Tea Party activists to start showing up at these town halls to SHOUT DOWN the leftist disrupters.

If enough of our side start shouting 'USA USA USA' every time, they'll eventually get the message.

It is time to start checking drivers licenses to make sure they live in the district.

Rolls are computerized. Not a big deal. But I don’t even think they have bring the rolls. Just check their drivers license and see if they live in the area. That would be easy and fast and catch the out of towners.

Yes and others believe they are right because that is what our colleges teach and our representatives let them get by with it.

Our first amendment has nothing to do with separation of Church and state but only prevents congress from making laws concerning religion.

Why can`t the silly ased bastards who are supposed to be so smart see that the first Amendment which ( says Congress shall not ) see that it is unique among the amendments in that it names one branch of Government (Congress) unlike the other amendments which are to who ever is concerned or the people.

I respect Jefferson’s erudition and contribution.

Nothing you have posted would lead me to conclude that he recognized the spiritual state of Sin, and the concomitant need for a Savior - or that Jesus in any way claimed to be the prophesied Messiah.

In contrast, what he wrote indicates that he believed only in the temporal perfection (i.e., works righteousness) attainable (or so he apparently thought) through following Jesus’ precepts.

His disparagement of what he called Platonists indicates that he was an existentialist who discounted the spiritual realm: a man of this world.

With all the media there and professional cameras, there isn’t a better quality video out there? I can’t find one on the internet?

Jefferson: June 29, 1824, letter to Van Buren:
"If no action is to be deemed virtuous for which malice can imagine a sinister motive, then there never was a virtuous action, no, not even in the life of our savior himself. but he has taught us to judge the tree by it’s fruit, and to leave motives to him who can see into them."
