For the most part Matt Lauer was relentlessly trying to bait President George W. Bush into criticism of President Trump. For the most part Lauer failed.
However, it would be intellectually dishonest not to notice that Dubya stayed quiet when faced with an administration he agrees with (Obama), and pokes his head up when there’s an administration he disagrees with (Trump). UniParty Rules.

Everyone of Matt's questions were heavily baited, W didn't take the bait, he simply stated his view of the subject of the question.
If you ask me I think when he was asked about the ban and how that effects the war on terrorism he said we can't win if we are in retreat and leaving places too soon, a direct hit on Zippo!
The questions were designed to get you think negatively even before you heard the answer.

Great post. I really appreciate it. Viewing the actual interview makes me realize Bush was not as harsh as conservative panic media made him out to be.
There is no doubt our side is more then capable of throwing us red meat to keep us nicely engaged and agitated. I am seeing plenty of that and this is one example.
