You know, this is actually the problem with the majority of the world: They really do believe that we are community property. We aren't a "true" country or nationality (like THEY are), we're a patchwork quilt sewn together from scraps of "True" nationalities. That's why they hate us so much if we don't do what they want. They think they helped create us, so they get a say in whatever we do for the rest of time. It's very hard for other countries to realize: YOU DIDN'T BUILD THAT. Just because some of our citizens were expelled (or escaped) from your country doesn't mean we owe you anything. The rest of the world needs to get it through their heads: The United States does NOT, in fact, belong to all of you. We belong to us.
