President Trump appeared to be pleased with the Democratic National Committee chair results on Saturday, tweeting a sarcastic congratulations to the victor, Tom Perez, and the Republican Party.

In response, Perez, the former Obama labor secretary, told Trump to wipe the grin off his face. He, his deputy chair Keith Ellison, and all Democrats are now a united front, he argued.

Perez can talk a big game, but even his own party is dissatisfied with the new leadership. The former labor secretary, they argue, represents the establishment wing of the party. Ellison would have been the only true "grassroots" leader. What's more, the DNC voted to continue allowing corporate cash to flow in, proving they're not so "progressive" after all.

The Republican National Committee recognized the lost opportunity that may result in more tough elections for Democrats.
"By selecting a D.C. insider, Democrats only create deeper divisions within their own party by pushing a far left agenda that rejects a majority of their base outside Washington," RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said on Saturday.

DNC Chair Candidate Tom Perez’s Bank-Friendly Record Could Kneecap the Democratic Party
No one ever did get convicted of a crime. And the person who was running the division of the Department of Justice with jurisdiction over the SCRA at the time was Tom Perez. From 2009 to 2013, he was assistant attorney general for civil rights.
Perez himself continually touted his division’s work on the SCRA. But in 2011, Congressmen Brad Miller and Walter Jones wrote to the Justice Department about these violations, noting: “The continued failure to pursue criminal charges in the face of flagrant violations of the criminal law is destroying Americans’ faith in their government and democracy.”
The Justice Department later reached a settlement with banks over these violations, including J.P. Morgan, offering monetary payouts to soldiers. But no individuals were held accountable.
Waivers at Labor
Perez left Justice to become secretary of labor in 2013. The Department of Labor has significant bank regulatory authority involving pension funds. Financial institutions found guilty of certain crimes, for instance, are barred from managing pensions unless granted waivers by the Department of Labor.
In 2015, Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters asked Perez to hold off such a waiver for large banks that had pled guilty to conspiring to rig the foreign-exchange markets. But UBS, Barclays, J.P. Morgan, Royal Bank of Scotland Group, and Citigroup received waivers, letting them go right back to managing pension money.
Perez’s track record at the Department of Labor was generally respected by unions, a bulwark of the Democratic Party, although union density overall dropped during the Obama administration. For example, Perez implemented a conflict of interest rule to stop financial advisors from cheating people. He adopted a regulation to help more people earn overtime time. He advocated for a rule for home care workers to aid their bargaining leverage.

It’s inevitable that a party based on the identity politics of “minority” group aggrievedness will fly apart as the various aggrieved “minorities” fight each other to achieve dominate “minority” aggrievedness.
This is a never-ending battle because as soon as one “minority” group “wins”, they then become the “majority” which is subject to attack by all of the losing “minorities”.
And the real beauty is that they conduct their destructive internecine warfare with the same riotous, cacophonous and Alinksyesque battle tactics that they’ve been taught to use against their external opponents.
That is exactly what we witnessed with the Perez/Ellison battle and the subsequent fallout currently underway. We can expect to see much more of this in the interceding months.
If a person has to tell you, “I’m your worst nightmare,” he doubts it himself.
Stupid of Perez’s. Instead of trying to make deals with President Trump or promoting Dem candidates, his focus is to become a “nightmare,” to squander resources on losing battles and personal hissy fits.

New DNC Chair, Tom Perez, fits right in with the values of the Democratic party, especially when it comes to victimizing minorities and labeling white people as privileged.
An investigation into Perez revealed extreme views he holds according to "A Review of the Operations of the Voting Section of the Civil Rights Division" conducted by the Office of the Inspector General Oversight and Review Division in March of 2013.
